Putting together a workable sex scene, she explained, requires planning. 'We rehearse and had a very determined choreography, and then it allows you freedom.'

She recalled the process: 'We laughed because you need to get it out because this is so weird.'

Allied is slated for release in American cinemas on November 23 and will open in the UK two days later.
