The pop princess - who hasn't released an album since 2013's Prism - has been inspired to 'rework the direction of her album' in light of the recent events.
'As such a vocal Hillary Clinton supporter, she was heavily involved with the presidential election but was shocked at how volatile it became,' an insider told The Sun.
'She hopes her new music can inspire healing, peace and unity after Trump's win.'
The songstress was left visibly distraught after Donald Trump was elected President on November 8th.

The star has since donated $10,000 to Planned Parenthood in face of Trump's looming defund.
And it probably didn't help that her Republican parents, Keith Hudson and Mary Perry, are Trump supporters and voted for him.
During Clinton’s Election Night party, Katy admitted in her speech in front of her fellow Clinton supporters that her parents were backing Trump.
However, she did say: 'You know what? We will still all be sitting at the same table for Thanksgiving.'

Katy also shared a Toni Morrison quote on Instagram, eluding to her recent dose of inspiration.
'This is precisely the time when artists go to work. There is no time for despair, no place for self-pity, no need for silence, no room for fear. We speak, we write, we do language. That is how civilisations heal,' the empowering message read.
Katy may even be performing her new singles to sell-out crowds as she appeared to have confirmed going on tour next year after a Twitter troll branded her a 'flop'.
The talented star - who was recently awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame - responded: 'See you at my show 2K17'.
MailOnline has contacted a representative for Katy Perry for comment.
