He announced he was engaged to his beau Jwan Yosef only hours before on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.

And having gone public with the announcement Ricky Martin proudly showed off his sparkling engagement ring as he took to the stage MGM Grand, in Las Vegas.

As he was awarding Marc Anthony with the Latin Recording Academy’s Person of the Year award, the 44-year-old singer proudly showed off his engagement ring.

Presenting the award at the MGM's Garden Arena, Ricky cut a dapper figure in his black evening dress - though it was his latest accessory that drew all the attention.

Sitting proudly on his left hand was the gold band he'd proudly unveiled on the Ellen show earlier on.

Smiling brightly as Marc Anthony arrived to collect his award, the La Vida Loca singer looked completely at ease and very happy.

Earlier on in the day, the singer had officially announced his engagement to artist Jwan.

The engagement is a first for the Puerto Rican pop star - who came out in 2010 - and he was full of pride as he showed off his engagement band on the chat show.

The Grammy winner gushed that he was in love with the Syrian-born, Swedish-raised 32-year-old, whom he met over a year ago through his conceptual paintings.

Congratulation: Earlier on in the day, the singer had officially announced his engagement to artist Jwan on The Ellen DeGeneres Show

'I saw his art and I went crazy because I really love what he does. Really original. And I contacted him and then I collected him,' Ricky - born Enrique Morales - told Ellen.

Jwan's current exhibition Maskings runs through December 3 at Stockholm gallery Stene Projects.

Martin nervously popped the question by declaring he 'got something' for Yosef rather than the more traditional 'will you marry me.'

'Bad! And then he was like, "Yes." I said, "I want to spend my life with you" and he was like, "what is the question?" "Would you marry me?"' the Vente Pa'ca hitmaker recalled.

'I'm going to be in Vegas! I have a residency in Vegas!' said the former soap star, whose tickets go on sale Monday.

The handsome tenor will next take his 106-date One World Tour to the Figali Convention Center in Panama City this Thursday.
