'The wedding's off': Bachelor's Ben Higgins blindsides fiancee Lauren Bushnell by putting nuptials on hold during therapy session 

He got down on one knee during the season 20 finale of The Bachelor.

But Ben Higgins put the brakes on his walk down the aisle with fiancee Lauren Bushnell, as seen on the Tuesday episode of their reality show Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After.

During a therapy session, Ben, 28, admitted to her that he's not ready to tie the knot.

A tearful Lauren asks him: 'So you're saying the wedding is off?' to which Ben replies 'Yeah, I am. The wedding's off.'

Ben, who called her the 'woman of my dreams,' added: 'I think this thing sped up real fast and we haven't had a second to breathe.'

Regarding their relationship, Ben said that they 'just haven't done anything,' which angered Lauren.

She replied: 'When you say that we just haven't done anything, it hurts because I've moved to Denver and had to switch jobs,' adding that she left her life in LA to be with him.

During a couples therapy session, Ben admitted that he's not ready to tie the knot; the news caused Lauren to cry

Following his admission, Lauren, 25, told the cameras she felt blindsided: 'I have no idea what just happened. I had no idea that Ben was feeling this way. And I feel completely blindsided.'

Ben called their relationship 'so untraditional,' and that he felt 'a weight off my chest' after telling her the wedding was off.

The Bachelor star did say he wanted to marry her eventually - he just wanted to pause on making any plans. 

Engaged pair Lace Morris and Grant Kemp from Bachelor In Paradise and also twins Emily and Haley Ferguson joined them for the emotional therapy session.

After he heard about their new relationship status, Bachelor/Bachelorette host Chris Harrison, said: 'I'm sorry to hear the wedding's off, but I just want what's best for you.' 

 The two hour episode also followed the pair as they took a road trip to Las Vegas for the iHeartRadio Music Festival.

During their trip, Lauren felt like she and her beau were 'miles apart.' 

Adding that 'we still have to pretend like we're on the same page,' referring to red carpet interviews - where they are often asked about their wedding plans. 

Their TV show Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After? airs Tuesdays on Freeform.
