'That's about to happen': Paris Hilton hints at firing her assistant who caused passport disaster that saw hotel heiress delayed ahead of her Australian tour

She was turned away just before boarding a flight from the US to Australia due to an invalid passport.

And despite eventually making it into the country after the unexpected delay, Paris Hilton insists her assistant who caused the disaster will be made to pay for it.

Speaking to KIIS 106.5FM's drive show Hughesy & Kate, the 35-year-old all but confirmed she would be firing her staff member after the blunder.

'My assistant actually gave the wrong passport to the visa people,' Paris recalled the mistake that saw her almost not make it in time for her Australian tour.

'But thank goodness I made it here,' she added.

Host Kate Langbrook probed the DP on whether she would give her staffer the axe, asking: 'Paris, is that an EX assistant?'

'Yes, that's about to happen,' the blonde beauty responded.

Paris was scheduled to fly out of America earlier this week for her Australian Gold Rush Tour, but found herself held from travelling due to her assistant's mistake.

But the star still managed to land in Melbourne on Wednesday looking glamourous in a pineapple maxi skirt and black crop top.

Paris was all smiles as she waved to fans while making her way through the airport terminal.

The Hilton hotel heiress' tour expects to see her hit the DJ decks at Marquee at The Star in Sydney on Saturday, followed by Brisbane's Fluffy nightclub on Sunday.

The starlet was also seen making appearances on TV and at the launch party for her newest perfume Gold Rush in Melbourne on Thursday night.
