Kanye West was booed at his concert in San Jose, California on Thursday night, when he revealed himself as a Trump supporter.

The Fade rapper was caught on camera launching into a 40-minute political rant, revealing that he didn't vote but that if he did - if would have been for The Donald.

'If I would have voted, I would have voted for Trump.

'I wanted to say that before the election, but they told me, "Whatever you do, don't say that aloud."

Kanye West revealed that he did not vote - but he would have voted for Trump if he did - at a concert in San Jose, California Thursday night (above)

'Not only did I not vote, but there were a lot of things I actually liked about Trump's campaign. His approach was f****** genius - because it worked,' Kanye said.

He went on to say that his support for Trump doesn't mean he doesn't believe in equality.

'That don't mean I don't think that black lives matter. That don't mean that I don't believe in women's rights. That don't mean that I don't believe in gay marriage. That don't mean that I don't believe in these things,' he said.

'Not only did I not vote, but there were a lot of things I actually liked about Trump's campaign. His approach was f****** genius - because it worked,' Kanye said

Kanye's comments are complicated by the fact that he donated $2,700 to Hillary Clinton's campaign last year. He's pictured above with a selfie with the former Secretary of State, and his wife Kim Kardashian, an ardent Clinton supporter

And when it came to race relations, West said that black people need to stop focusing on racism.

'This world is racist ok,' he said.

Kanye's rant had many in the crowd at the SAP Pavilion booing, and it appears that a fight even broke out, according to the video. Others threw shoes and other articles of clothing up at the stage, according to the San Jose Mercury.

Eight months ago, Kanye's team was forced to deny that he was a secret Trump supporter when a passenger on the rapper's flight from Paris to LA told the New York Post that 'he's not going to vote for Trump but he supports him'.

Kanye's political beliefs are complicated at best, since he donated $2,700 to Hillary Clinton's campaign last year as well.

Wife Kim Kardashian was an ardent supporter of Clinton throughout the election.

After attending a event with Clinton last year, Kim posted a picture with the former Secretary of State and her husband, writing: 'I got my selfie!! I really loved hearing (Clinton) speak and hearing her goals for our country. #HillaryforPresident.'

At the MTV Video Music Awards in August 2015, Kanye said he planned to run for president in 2020.
