Her new film Shut In hit theaters one week ago to scathing reviews.

The 48-year-old starlet went make-up free as she carried two shoulder bags for the casual occasion, both stuffed to the brim.

Casual outing: Naomi Watts opted for comfort for a chilly morning outing with a friend around Tribeca on Thursday morning

The Hollywood veteran, who split from actor and directed Liev Schreiber in September, opted for comfort for the chilly morning outing around her neighborhood.

Wearing soft heather gray pants that hit above the ankle with an over-sized black sweater, the actress covered up further with a dark gray wool cardigan.

Watts sported two shoulder bags, one slung over each shoulder, for the occasion.

The starlet's newest film Shut In was released last Friday, November 11.

Not-so-shocking: The starlet's newest film Shut In was released last Friday, November 11 to scathing reviews

The reviews were less than satisfactory -  the "thriller" received a shocking 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes

New York Times movie critic Jeannette Catsoulis went as far as to call the film 'achingly inept,' though she credited Watts for doing 'what she can to sell a plot of such preposterousness that the derisory laughter..began barely 20 minutes in.'

The LA Times described the film as 'more effective as a 90-minute commercial for the L.L. Bean aesthetic than as a pseudo-psychological thriller,' referring to the array of gorgeous sweaters the actress sports in it.

The A.V. Club's Mike D'Angelo lamented, 'For ages, there's nothing substantial for either Mary [Naomi Watts] or the viewer to actively fear.'

'Watts gives her all to this overheated nonsense,' he continued, '[but] ends up being just another fiercely maternal damsel in distress.'

For her casual Thursday morning outing, the mother-of-two was fresh-faced, wearing no makeup, and wore her blonde locks tucked back in a low maintenance bun.

She hid behind a dark pair of sunglasses to meet up with another leggy blonde.

Coffee date: Watt's blonde companion looked put-together in a smart pair of skinny jeans, clutching a to-go cup of coffee

Watt's companion looked put-together as she donned dark cigarette skinny pants with a dark longline structured coat and chestnut booties.

She clung onto a burgundy shoulder bag and held a cup of coffee.

Her hair, though a darker blonde than her famous friend's, was swept up in an equally off-duty style bun.

The friend sported a wedding band, while Watts left hers at home.

Brisk walk: The two walked briskly through star-studded Tribeca, assumingly to escape the biting cold

The duo seemed to be walking briskly, possibly in a hurry to get somewhere warm.

The King Kong starlet and her partner of 11 years actor and director Liev Schreiber announced their split this past September.

The two have kept their relationship amicable, often reuniting as a family for the sake of their two young sons, nine-year-old Alexander and seven-year-old Samuel.

Watts is currently filming the upcoming Netflix psychological thriller series Gypsy.

She stars alongside actor Billy Crudup, who plays her husband Michael in the psychological thriller.

A ten-episode first series is set to arrive on Netflix sometime during 2017, though no exact release date has been publicized.
