James Rackover made his first court appearance on Thursday (left) after being charged with the murder of Joseph Comunale (top inset), 26, over the weekend. Lawrence Dilione of Oceanport, New Jersey (right) has also been charged with his murder and appeared in court as well. A judge set the bond for both men at $3million each, as it's been alleged Comunale was killed because he reportedly rejected their sexual advances. Rackover and Dilione are facing charges of second-degree murder, tampering and hindering prosecution charges after they allegedly stabbed Comunale 15 times and then tried to burn his body with gasoline on Sunday. The body of Comunale, who goes by the name Joey, was discovered in a wooded stretch on the Jersey shore early Wednesday. Rackover, who has a criminal past is a very close friend of jeweler-to-the stars Jeffrey and even took his name (pictured together bottom right).

The man was texting his girlfriend Jackie while she was away on a 'solo' trip in Atlanta, and she began to strip for him before taking a shower. That's when he saw the unfamiliar striped suitcase in the corner of a picture. The man demanded Jackie give him her room number, and then found out the room was under her boss' name.

Donald Trump had his first face-to-face meeting with a foreign dignitary Thursday when he sat down with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe - and brought daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner (all four pictured left) along too. 'As an outcome of today's discussions, I am convinced Mr Trump is a leader in whom I can have great confidence,' said Abe, whose country was troubled by some of Trump's election promises. He described the atmosphere as 'warm'. But exactly what was discussed in the 90-minute conversation remains unknown - as do Kushner and Ivanka's roles in the meeting.

During the performance he went on a political rant - revealing that he didn't vote but that if he did, he would have voted for Trump. The new First Lady was spotted sporting a chic, knee-length red coat that was draped around her shoulders. The billionaire's only son with Melania also looked casual, as the youngster wore navy blue pants and a sweater, with a white collared shirt underneath.

In a snub of pleas made by President-elect Trump's camp to put an end to the unrest, President Obama told a press conference in Berlin on Thursday (left) he had no intention of quietening the crowds protesting against his successor. 'I wouldn't advice them to be silent,' he said in response to a question about anti-Trump protests and riots (right) which have unleashed chaos in several states since the election.

Amid the social unrest following Donald Trump's election, actor Tom Hanks has reassured everyone that 'we are going to be all right.' During a tribute to his career on Tuesday night, Hanks used the occasion to address Americans' concerns following the election in a stirring 10-minute speech. The 60-year-old star sang Schoolhouse Rock and referenced Bruce Springsteen to encourage people in knowing the country will move forward. Hanks made his remarks in front of a star-studded crowd during the Museum of Modern Art Film Benefit in New York City that paid tribute to his career.

Amy and Lance Buckley were found dead alongside their daughters Claire, five, and Abigail, 18 months, on Thursday morning. The couple were living with Mr Buckley's parents in Stafford, Virginia. They welcomed their second daughter last April. Eleven days later, Mr Buckley, who was studying a PhD in microbiology at Howard University, went missing, sparking a frantic appeal from his family to find him. Stafford County Sheriff's Office would not confirm how the family died on Thursday but said it was treating their deaths as a domestic murder suicide.

NEW Colton Harris Moore, once known as the barefoot bandit - a notorious teen fugitive who stole cars, boats and airplanes and toyed with police during an epic two-year crime spree - is in the final phase of the seven-year prison term dished out in 2011 for a trail of thefts and burglaries spanning from Washington State to the Bahamas. The 25-year-old is staying at a half-way house and has started a part-time clerical job for his former defense attorney, John Henry Browne. And now he has vowed to obtain a pilot's license and will set about becoming the aviation industry's answer to Donald Trump when he's formally released in January.

Ferdinand Marcos was buried with military honours (main) at a cemetery in the Philippines capital Manila amid demonstrations by human rights groups and a politicians. Supporters of the 'people power' revolt that ousted Marcos three decades ago have been left furious by the move, which was approved by the country's controversial president Rodrigo Duterte. Many in the Philippines were angered by the way Marcos' family had kept the timing of the burial secret, including Vice President Leni Robredo who likened the ceremony to 'a thief in the night'. The teenager, who cannot be named, died last month and is now in a 'cryostat' tank at around -196C (-321F) inside the Michigan-based Cryonics Institute, it can be reported for the first time today. She was at the center of a fierce legal battle between her divorced parents - with her mother agreeing to her wish to be frozen while her estranged father refused because of its cost and the brutal process of preserving her. He told the High Court: 'Even if the treatment is successful and she is brought back to life in, let's say, 200 years, she may not find any relative and she might not remember things. She may be left in a desperate situation - given that she is still only 14-years-old - and will be in the United States of America.' Mr Justice Peter Jackson was called a 'hero' by the child before she died after he agreed to her dying wish so that one day she could 'be cured and woken up'. Her body has been flown to America and she has since slowly been chilled over two to three weeks in Liquid Nitrogen and stored next to around 150 other bodies.

Belchertown State School, in Massachusetts, which operated for 70 years without any scrutiny from outside, was eventually closed in 1992 after the inhuman conditions were discovered. Benjamin Ricci, whose son Robert lived at the school, described conditions as 'horrific,' medieval,' and 'barbaric'.

This is the adorable - and extraordinary - moment a wild polar bear pets a chained-up sled dog in the Canadian wilds.  Polar bears weigh 330-990lbs and can easily kill a dog, especially one on a chain. But this footage, shot by David De Meulles of Manitoba, shows the bear gently stroking the placid animal on the head. 'I had no idea what was going to happen, and then sure enough he started petting that dog, acted like he was a friend,' De Meulles told CBC. I just so happened to catch a video of a lifetime.'

Beaming from ear to ear without a scrap of remorse, this twisted teenager smiled as he was sentenced to death for killing a Kent State University student. Damantae Graham, 19, was one of three teens charged with murdering Nicholas Massa (inset), 18, after they broke into his friend's apartment near Akron, Ohio. Police said Mr Massa was in the wrong place at the wrong time when Graham shot him on Superbowl Sunday, February 7.

A man launched a foul-mouthed tirade of abuse at a Starbucks employee in a coffee shop near the University of Miami, shouting 'I voted for Trump' after his order reportedly took too long to arrive. Jorge de Cárdenas was working at the coffee shop when he witnessed the incident at about 4.30pm on Wednesday. He claims the disgruntled customers unleashed his fury on an employee behind the counter, who appears to be African-American, calling her 'trash'.

The horrifying moment a man appeared to ram two people with a car during a fight outside a bar - sending one flying through a window - in Tampa, Florida, has been captured on camera. Surveillance footage recorded a large group of young men brawling on 7th Avenue in the early hours of Tuesday morning. A car is seen on the edge of the shot to start the footage, before it accelerates towards the two men and knocks one through the shop-front before coming to a stop. Police are working to determine whether the man deliberately drove the car towards the other men.

The flesh-coloured gown (pictured right) smashed its pre-sale estimate of $3million (£2.42million) to fetch $4.8million (£3.87million) at auction in Los Angeles. The buyer was the museum chain Ripley's Believe It Or Not, which described the dress as 'the most iconic piece of pop culture there is'. An accomplished historian from Manhattan whose failed marriage was thought to have driven her to suicide last month actually took her life due to a mysterious condition known as misophonia. Joyce Cohen, a journalist who says that she corresponded with Michelle LaMarche Marrese (left) in the months before her death, says that the condition wreaked havoc on her personal and professional life. Marrese had posted Facebook messages (inset) indicating that she was distraught over her crumbling marriage to Michael Marrese (seen with Michelle on the right).

Adam Crapser, 41, landed in Seoul, South Korea on Thursday after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement ordered him to be deported because of his criminal convictions. He was adopted from South Korea by Americans when he was just three years old. Crapser was arrested on February 8 after serving a 60-day sentence for menacing constituting domestic violence and attempted coercion. He had been held in an immigration detention center in Tacoma, Washington since then.

The appalling video taken inside an eighth grade classroom in Baltimore shows the white female teacher calling her mostly-black students 'stupid' and 'idiots' who are destined to get shot. Baltimore City Public Schools spokeswoman Edie House Foster said in a statement Thursday that the science teacher at Harlem Park Elementary/Middle School was fired after the video was posted to Facebook by a parent of one of the students on Wednesday. The video has been viewed online more than one million times and has sparked shock and outrage from the foul language used by the staffer. At the end of the video the teacher is heard saying: 'You have the chance to get an education. But you want to be a punk a** n****r who is going to get shot. You're stupid.'

Deni Kirkova, 25, from London, top left working out, tried a preview of a new gym class called Flatline, which has been hailed 'the hardest workout in the world'. Flatline is thought to be so tough, and potentially deadly, that a hired cardiologist complete with medical kit, stand-by stretcher and oxygen masks is present throughout the class in case of any emergencies (bottom left). Overlooking the Dolomites, this terrifying infinity pool is suspended 40 feet above the ground (top right) and has a glass window to give brave bathers the sensation of swimming through the sky (left). The dramatic 82 feet long pool is part of a new extension at Hotel Hubertus, a wellness resort for skiers and hikers in South Tyrol, Italy.

A 'vertically challenged' grandmother from the US has accidentally fallen head over heels into her grandson's cot when trying to put him down to sleep (above). The hilarious incident was captured on a baby monitor camera, and saw the woman using a step to try and lean far enough over the cot railings. However she goes too far and falls headfirst into the cot.

The Hurricane was one of the many attractions at the defunct Boomers! theme park, which is now falling into disrepair in Dania Beach. The ride, which opened on November 1, 2000 stands at 3,200-feet-long and 100-feet-tall, and when it opened the ride was the largest wooden rollercoaster in Florida. It is thought the costs of maintaining a wooden rollercoaster in Florida's warm climate have led to its closure, combined with not enough people using the ride.

A woman got more than she bargained for after visiting a vintage antiques store in the US. In this hilarious video taken by her daughter, the mother from Bessember, Alabama, is mounted by a pig who just wants to come home with them! The pair were walking back from the shop to their car when the pig came running over and seemed to take a shine to the woman. After running through a few muddy puddles the black and pink pig appeared at her car door and jumped up onto her clothes.

A brown bear cub (pictured) wanted to join the fun at a children's playground in Kolpashevo, Siberia. But the youngster appeared frustrated that the seat on the swing was too small to sit on. Never mind, the hulking cub swung on it anyway, to the amusement of watching locals. It later emerged that the bear was not wild but from a visiting circus and was on a walk with its handler.
