Driving her batty! Adele flaps her arms then breaks down in hysterics after winged mammal attacks fan during concert in Mexico

She has never been one to maintain the haughty air of a diva on stage.

And Adele proved her sense of humour is as lively as ever as she flapped her arms then broke down in hysterics after seeing a bat attack a fan during a show in Mexico on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old Cockney cutie unleashed her inner Victoria Wood, though with considerably cruder language, as she gave an impromptu comedy performance after seeing the winged mammal fly around the head of her unfortunate supporter.

After running around in a circle and flapping her wings, the Skyfall star exclaimed: 'There's a bat by your head. He landed right by your head. Oh my God, a f***ing bat!

'Welcome to Mexico. It’s true, I'm happy to here, but a f***ing bat? Jesus Christ!''

The warbler was clearly having a great time performing at the Palacio de los Deportes stadium in Mexico City, especially after the incident provided some welcome light relief. The moment went viral after the video was shared on Twitter by fan H Ramos.

It is not the first time in recent months an animal has made an surprise appearance during one of the multi-platinum mother-of-one's shows however.

Pup Casper, who was appropriately dressed in an Adele T-shirt, was spotted by the singer and then brought on stage during a show in Los Angeles back in August.

The lucky pooch got a big smacker from the Tottenham native before being taken off stage, with the Chasing Pavements star saying: 'I don’t even know where that dog’s tongue has been.'

She also made headlines in July after sharing a smooch on-stage, though this time it was accidental after a cheeky fan turned his head when she gave him a peck on the cheek during a concert in Vancouver.

Back to work: It was not long before the Skyfall warbler was back to singing
