It comes days after the Girls actress voiced her anger and devastation after the Republican candidate's win.

She posted alongside the picture: 'Asked the Canyon for some guidance. She said this week is going to be revolutionary, and so I threw my arms open and said "bring it." (Good thing we got the week's first true smile on camera.) Loving you all and whispered some wishes for you into the big red rock.'

Dunham spent 18 months campaigning for Clinton, and has been a fierce critic of the President-Elect.

In a blog post last week, she revealed that she has been subjected to hateful abuse during the campaign, stating: 'My Twitter mentions went from rude to downright violent.

'My phone was hacked, and I was sent images of aborted fetuses, weapons. I was called a fat w****, a retard, told I should be killed in front of everyone who knew me.'

She said her experienced matched those of others who had campaigned on behalf of the Democratic candidate.

And Dunham continued: 'Wednesday was a day of mourning. Thursday, too. Hell, I'm giving us till Sunday. But then we fight.

'Now, more than ever, our power is in numbers and in our refusal to accept the idea that our leaders intrinsically know what's best for us.'

Before the election, the 30-year-old said she would move to Canada if Trump won, but in a post on Friday said she would not be following through on this.

She wrote on Instagram: 'And for those demanding I move to Canada based on something I said when this man seemed like a steak salesman with a long shot at the presidency: stay busy reveling in your new regime.

'I will go many places during my lifetime, surrounded by kindreds on a mission to spread justice and light.

'I can't wait for all of of this, and for the change to come, as we use what we've been given to protect those who can't protect themselves. What are you living for?'
