Jools pic prompts Jamie Oliver's mother to share her chef son's secret

Jamie Oliver’s wife, Jools, posted this photo online of their three-month old son, River Rocket, sucking his thumb.

The 41-year-old captioned it with a love heart emoji explaining that three of their five children had developed the habit. However, she was quickly excoriated by other women who suggested thumb sucking is bad for children.

‘Be careful or he will have goofy teeth and skinny thumb being a thumb sucker, as cute as it looks,’ wrote one, while Jools’ mother-in-law, Sally Oliver, risked embarrassing the TV chef. ‘This does look rather familiar — does Jamie still suck his thumb when he’s tired?’

Eva Longoria was dwarfed by supermodel Karlie Kloss at a party in New York

Petite Eva's not short of jokes...

Beauty really does come in all shapes and sizes, judging by this comical encounter between Hollywood actress Eva Longoria and supermodel Karlie Kloss.

At a party in New York, petite brunette Eva, 41-year-old star of Desperate Housewives, was dwarfed by 6 ft1 in Victoria’s Secret model Karlie, 24.

After jokingly squeezing her behind, 5 ft 2 in Eva quipped: ‘Hey Karlie, can you hear me down here? It’s me, Eva!’

Writing online Eva posed the question: ‘Wait am I really short or is she really tall?’

Both, apparently.

Balls wins Brucie's blessing

The unlikely popularity of ex-Labour MP Ed Balls on Strictly Come Dancing has reached new heights: the self-confessed dad dancer is now being backed by Sir Bruce Forsyth, the original co-host of the BBC series.

‘We are watching Strictly and we love it,’ Bruce’s wife, Wilnelia, tells me at the launch of Skate at Somerset House with Fortnum & Mason. ‘Bruce thinks Ed is fantastic and says he really makes the show because he’s fun, and it’s all about people learning, and you can see how much Ed has progressed.

‘Bruce admires Ed’s footwork. If you’re good at dancing to begin with, it probably works against you because there’s less room for improvement.’

French magazine Paris Match has delivered a largely positive verdict on Prince Harry’s girlfriend Meghan Markle. ‘She has the smile of Pippa Middleton, the allure of Penelope Cruz, and the ambitions of Angelina Jolie,’ it reads.

The mag also slyly adds ‘she reminds us of both Diana and Wallis Simpson.’ Trouble ahoy!
