Paul Smith, the widower of Sydney Siege victim Katrina Dawson (left pictured together), is reportedly dating Sanchia Brahimi (main), ex-wife of celebrity chef Guillaume Brahimi (right pictured together) who she split from early this year after 16 years of marriage. Mr Smith and Ms Brahimi have been friends for several years but have grown closer in recent weeks. The relationship is said to be in its 'very early stages' but has the enthusiastic support of both families. The news comes just a month before the second anniversary of the tragedy (inset) that claimed the life of Ms Dawson, a leading barrister and mother-of-three.

Man who set Commonwealth Bank on fire in Melbourne claimed he was 'broke'

The 21-year-old 'maniac' (right) who doused himself in accelerant and set fire to a Commonwealth Bank branch had minutes earlier complained about being 'broke' and not having money for food. Witnesses inside the Springvale branch in Melbourne's southeast said the man became agitated after not having enough funds to withdraw money from the ATM (inset). Another witness said the alleged attacker was angry not enough staff were available to help him, saying 'Commonwealth Bank never pays enough staff to serve us customers. I have been waiting for one hour,' the witness claimed he said, to which a bank staff member replied 'it's not your business'. He then and allegedly walked to the nearby service station to fill a plastic container with petrol (left). 27 people were injured in the blaze and one remains in a critical condition.

From pal to predator: Polar bear KILLS and eats sled dog in the same Canada sanctuary where heartwarming viral video was shot days earlier

The viral clip (pictured) showed an enormous polar bear stroking a lounging dog on the head inside the Mile 5 Dog Sanctuary in Churchill, Manitoba. Days later, one of the sled dogs in the area was eaten by a bear. Conservation officers were called to remove three polar bears from the site after one of the animals attacked and ate the sled dog, CBC reported. The other two, a mother and cub, were moved along because the bears were being fed and the female's behavior was also becoming a concern. Charlie Ladoon, who runs the Mile 5 Dog Sanctuary, said the dog that was killed was chained up at the time. Ian Stirling, an adjunct professor at the University of Alberta, said that Ladoon's dogs should not have been on chains for their own protection. He said the bear was likely just hungry.

The dramatic 82 feet long pool is part of a new extension at Hotel Hubertus, a wellness resort for skiers and hikers in South Tyrol, Italy.
