Rudy Giuliani knows a thing or two about crime in New York City. During his time as mayor, the rate of violent crime in the Big Apple dropped dramatically, thanks in part to his no-nonsense approach.
Now, Giuliani is using that experience to blast the current leadership in New York. He strongly criticized Mayor Bill de Blasio for fueling anti-police views that sadly contributed to the deaths of two NYPD officers.
“We’ve had four months of propaganda starting with the president that everybody should hate the police,” Giuliani firmly stated.

“I don’t care how you want to describe it. That’s what those protests were all about.” The former mayor referred to the angry and sometimes violent protests in Ferguson, New York, and elsewhere that painted police as the enemy.
Giuliani also pointed out that instead of being rejected by national and local leaders, the angry rallies were actually encouraged. [H/T: The Blaze]

“The protests are being embraced. The protests are being encouraged. The protests… all lead to a conclusion: ‘The police are bad. The police are racist.‘ That is completely wrong.”
The former mayor then took an aggressive stance to defend police officers. “Actually, the people who do the most for the black community in America are the police.”
“They are the ones — not the Al Sharptons — they are the ones who are putting their lives on the line to save black children,” he concluded.
That view is completely contrary to the narrative pushed by the media… and it’s also true.

In fact, it was recently reported that before the two NYPD officers were murdered, they were stationed outside a low income housing complex as part of an effort to reduce domestic violence.
Many of the people in the neighborhood that they were protecting were black. This fact is repeatedly ignored by people intent on spreading hate.
It is easy for people like Sharpton, Obama, or De Blasio to badmouth the police from the comfort of mansions with bulletproof windows and 24/7 security.
It is police officers, however, who do the dangerous work every day to keep others safe. Giuliani is right: Police officers deserve our support, not our vile anger.
