We constantly hear tales of Bridezillas.
But what about when the caterers turn on an innocent bride?
That's what happened with bride-to-be, Amanda De Pascale, 26, from Long Island, who was left with a horrible taste in her mouth after receiving a shocking email from the New York-based events dessert company, Sweetery.
Confused: Bride-to-be, Amanda De Pascale, pictured with her fiance Joe Rea, received a shocking email from an events dessert company in New York called Sweetery
Shocking: Ms De Pascale had originally sent an email to Sweetery's trucks (pictured) from an email account specially set up to manage bridal admin - she did not check it religiously
Speaking to Fox News, Ms De Pascale, who is marrying Joe Rea, 36, said: 'My fiance and I wanted something a little different for our wedding and we thought it would be so fun to have a food truck for our guests to get little sweets'.
Sweetery describes itself as one of 'NYC's top experiential marketing companies' on their website - and after being inspired at a bridal expo, Ms De Pascale thought the truck would be perfect for their reception.
Ms Pascale then sent an email to the business from an account created solely for wedding planning, and was responded to with a quote.
Sadly, Sweetery said they would charge $2,900 for their service - something the bride said was beyond her price range.
Amanda said: 'My fiance and I wanted something a little different for our wedding and we thought it would be so fun to have a food truck for our guests to get little sweets'
Too much: After sending the email, Sweetery responded with a quote - USD $2,900 - and the bride decided not to pursue the offer
Deciding not to pursue the offer, Ms De Pascale didn't respond from the specially-created wedding email account.
However, it appears Sweetery wouldn't take no - or indeed no response - for an answer.
'They kept calling me, multiple times an hour, then would stop for a few hours, then call back again,' Ms De Pascale said.
'I told them: 'I can't talk right now', 'I'm at work', and hung up. But he continued to call and call for about two weeks.'
Not normal: 'They kept calling me, multiple times an hour, then would stop for a few hours, then call back again,' Ms De Pascale said of Sweetery, after she didn't respond to their email
Then, on November 8, Ms De Pascale received an email from Sweetery, which read: 'Amanda - We have zero idea what type of warped sick games you are playing with us, but now it is time for us to have a say.
'You are a despicable bottom feeding wretched disgrace of a person, who is as disgusting as they come.
'How many times have we called you to follow up on the proposal that we expanded time and effort to produce based on your request and each and every time you cowardly hang up the phone on us when we identify who is calling, what an absolute low life twisted miserable individual you have to be [sic].'
The email continued along these lines, ending with the sentiments: 'We truly hope that your wedding bombs and turns out to be a complete and total disaster of the century'.
Ms De Pascale said that the email left her 'shaken and shell-shocked'.
After one of Ms De Pascale's friends posted screenshots of the email on Facebook, the Sweetery owner and supposed sender of the email, Grant DiMille, posted a public apology, also telling Fox News: 'Yes, it came from a company computer, but it was not sent by myself or any member of management.
'It's a terrible offense, yes, but everyone makes mistakes.'
Nasty: Ms De Pascale later received a shocking email (pictured left and right) from Sweetery, in which she was called all sorts of things - she said it left her 'shaken and shell-shocked'
Not normal: The owner of Sweetery, Mr DiMille, said he was not responsible for the email, and added that after much deliberation, he had decided to fire the employee who was
And after deliberating for a period, Mr DiMille said he had decided to fire the employee behind the email.
'I had a conversation with our associate who wrote to the client and told him that we had no choice but to let him go based on the pain that has been caused to Amanda.'
On Tuesday night, Mr DiMille sent an apology directly to the distraught bride-to-be.
'It does deeply matter to us that you were offended by what was written to you.
'I know it will be difficult for you to believe this but our company's culture is not like what your experience has been, yet the experience that you encountered did happen.'
Ms De Pascale said she hoped such an experience never happened to a bride again.
