But Nicole Kidman, 49, was left red-faced after returning to The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night after she revealed the host inadvertently passed up the chance to date her not once, but twice.

The Australian star, who returned following an equally awkward interview last year, admitted she 'so didn't want to come back' to the NBC chat show.

Nicole revealed in her 2015 interview that she once had a crush on the popular presenter and arranged for the pair to meet, but an oblivious Jimmy failed to understand Nicole's attempts to date him.

Discussing the awkward moment head-on, the funnyman joked: 'I'm glad you're here, I'm glad you actually came back.'

Nicole quipped as she burst into a fit of giggles: 'Oh god, I so didn’t want to come back! Well I’m in a new movie Lions, so that’s why I’m here.'

But the Moulin Rouge starlet added fuel to fire by admitting she gave the 42-year-old host a second chance to ask for her number when they were both at a party at director David Fincher's house, which he rejected once again.
