EXCLUSIVE: 'Becky with the good hair' is KRIS JENNER, claims Beyoncé's hairstylist who adds the lyric has nothing to do with romance - but Solange's elevator attack on Jay-Z was 'straight up' over another woman

  • Hairstylist Anthony Pazos, who worked with Beyoncé for her VMA and Superbowl performances, says 'Becky with the good hair' is Kris Jenner
  • Beyoncé stirred up speculation over the state of her marriage to Jay-Z with the line, which features in her song Sorry from April's Lemonade album
  • Pazos says Jay's relationship with Kris is nothing romantic - but that their marriage was strained by his ties to another woman
  • He says Solange's infamous attack on Jay-Z in an elevator in 2014 'wasn’t because they had an argument about the weather' but 'another woman'
  • He revealed Beyoncé was actually unwell on the day of her VMA performance and he's never seen any nannies for her daughter Blue Ivy

It's the question that has kept tongues wagging in the showbiz world for months: Just which woman is Beyoncé singing about when she tells her lover to 'call Becky with the good hair'?

Gossip pointed to everyone from Rita Ora to Rihanna, via Taylor Swift and designer Rachel Roy, after Beyoncé made the reference in the break-up song Sorry.

Now the superstar's hairstylist has an alternative answer - and it's not who you might expect.

Surprisingly, Hollywood stylist Anthony Pazos says that the lyrics were penned about none other than the Kardashian family matriarch Kris Jenner.

'The rumors while we were working were that the one line "Becky with the good hair" is Kris Jenner,' Pazos - who styled Beyoncé for the VMAs and the Superbowl - told DailyMail.com.

'He only want me when I'm not there / He better call Becky with the good hair,' the song goes.

Beyoncé with Kardashian 'momager' Kris Jenner. Stylist Anthony Pazos says the line was not about any romantic dealings between Jenner and Jay-Z

Pazos reveals that the line was not about any romantic dealings between the rapper and the momager - but that the power couple's marriage WAS strained by his relationship with another woman.

Fans went into overdrive at the line, putting Beyoncé's billion-dollar marriage with Jay Z under the spotlight after her album Lemonade dropped out of the blue in April.

Beyonce's hairstylist Anthony Pavos says 'Becky with the good hair' is Kris Jenner

'The funny thing about it is that no one believes that because they are like Jenner is older - why would Jay-Z do that?' Pazos said.

'But if you think about it, it makes perfect sense.

'In the way that if you were going to be with...someone that they know interpersonally who has the same amount of money that they do, and so that’s the "rumor" that was going around on our production while we were working with Bey. Take what you want from that.'

The lyrics came after months of speculation that the power couple were on the rocks over his alleged close friendships with other women.

But Pazos explained that the context of Beyoncé's song relates more to the business dealings of their marriage, and that it was not anger over romantic involvement - at least not in this particular instance, he said.

Beyoncé was annoyed by Jay Z’s connection to reality TV mogul Kris, he believes.

'Kris does have good hair and "Becky" always refers to a white woman in the African American community. Becky is a generic white name for somebody - a white girl,' Pazos said.

He explained that Jay and Kris became close because of the rapper's relationship with Kris' son-in-law Kanye West.

Pazos, who has also worked with stars including Ashley Greene and One Direction, feels that issues about Kris’s friendship with Jay-Z could stem from her recent history of dating much younger men.

He said: 'I have partied with Kris before and she’s a sweetheart, a loving mother and is very professional and very fun. I have worked with Khloe and Lamar, and I love Khloe to death.

'The reason why Kris is always with younger guys is because she’s still trying to live as if she’s younger.

'We understand that she feels younger inside, and she always says that.

'She is dating younger men and her boyfriend right now is in his mid-thirties. Yes he’s a good-looking black guy, but it’s a total "sugar mama" situation and it’s kind of ridiculous.

'And you sigh when you see them out together because it’s all about her and it just seems so fake and contrived, it just doesn’t seem real.'

Even if Jay-Z's relationship with Kris is pure business, the stylist also confirmed that there was talk among Bey’s inner circle about the rapper growing close to other women.

'I’m not going to say anything about that. I can’t even. I mean, everyone knows that there was. Straight up, there was,' he said.

'If you listen to her album it’s very telling to what she was feeling about those particular circumstances. If you listen to the words you know. She doesn’t talk to us about it.'

Reports of marital problems surfaced in the wake of Beyoncé’s sister Solange attacking her brother in law after the Met Gala in May 2014.

Leaked footage showed Solange wildly swinging at Jay Z in an elevator as Beyoncé stood unmoved.

Pazos confirmed that the fight was about allegations over his behavior.

In an infamous 2014 incident, leaked CCTV footage showed Solange  wildly swinging at Jay Z in an elevator as Beyoncé stood unmoved (pictured immediately after the event)

Refusing to name names, he explained: 'People forget that the incident in the elevator when Solange was hitting Jay-Z, it wasn’t because they had an argument about the weather.

'That was about another woman.'

Even though Sorry meant that the famous couple's marriage was scrutinized by fans, friends and the media, Pazos believes the pair knew it would create huge publicity for the release and so went along with it anyway.

In the past the couple has been accused of manipulating media to get promotion for their music releases.

Nodding, Pazos, said: 'Right, and then she capitalized on it.'

But Pazos insisted that the power couple's marriage remains strong, with both of them committed to parenting Blue Ivy.

'They make their marriage work by being very humble. Believe it or not, even though they’re so filthy rich and so successful, they’re still very loving.

'When Jay and Bey are together they never show any affection around us, but they show affection for their daughter.

'They are supportive and always collaborating and vibing off each other. You never see them kissing or hugging or anything like that. But I would say they are in love.

'They are all about their business when it comes to their performances. They are very private and family orientated. They are definitely happy.'

And Pazos praised the couple doing all the parenting themselves.

'The really cool thing about it is that Jay Z and Beyoncé don’t have a nanny for Blue Ivy,' he said.

'If Beyoncé is working, then Jay-Z takes care of her. I really like that they don’t have a nanny for her, or if they do I have never seen one.

'Sure, Beyoncé and Jay-Z have assistants for themselves but those people have nothing to do with their daughter.'

Pazos was quick to dispel rumors and media reports that the ex Destiny’s Child star is a self-centered, money-motivated, power-hungry diva.

Instead he feels that she is a kind hearted, modest, hard working devoted family woman.

'Beyoncé works very hard and her family are always around,' he says.

'It’s a family gig. Her cousin and her nephews are all on the crew with us and Blue Ivy is always around. She’s such a little star herself.'

More than a billion people watched Beyoncé’s breathtaking 15-minute set of Lemonade at the opening of the MTV Video Music Awards in August.

But Anthony revealed that she was actually ill at the Madison Square Garden show in New York.

Anthony, who owns his own hair salon on Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood, said: 'At the VMAs she was actually sick and so that is why she was whispering the whole time, so she also prayed for her voice so that she would be able to perform.

'We all held hands and you could really feel the synergy of the group, I can’t even describe it, some people would just cry because it feels so unreal to be working with one of the biggest celebrities of our time, it’s just out of control.

'I really feel that Beyoncé’s faith allows her to trust that everything will work itself out.'

Anthony works hard to create the striking looks Beyoncé wants for her performances and goes to create lengths to make sure her hair stays firmly in place.

'If you’re in a Hollywood glam squad you need to be able to slay a weave and a wig application. Not one hair can be out of place.

'For Beyoncé and her backing dancers at the Super Bowl we had to sew down their wigs and then sew on their hats to the wig and their hair.

'It’s a lot of sewing, you’re basically sewing the hair to her scalp.'
