'Trump's coming': Students scramble out of lessons and run for their lives in hilarious new viral challenge which pokes fun at the president-elect

  • A new challenge is sweeping the internet - #TrumpIsComing Challenge
  • Donald Trump's election victory had barely been confirmed than the new craze was born
  • Videos show students going about daily life until someone shouts 'Trump's coming'
  • The reactions then see  students run screaming or collapse on the floor

Donald Trump's election caused a mixed reaction among voters and now groups of students across the U.S. are showing just how they feel about the president-elect in a new viral craze.

The #TrumpsComingChallenge sees students across the country suddenly run for the hills screaming, the moment someone yells 'Trump's coming!'

Hundreds of videos have appeared online with some groups choreographing dances. Others see individuals drop to the floor completely lifeless.

Donald Trump taking office in January has some people scared, so much so that they run like the wind when they hear that the president-elect is coming

The latest viral craze to hit the internet is the #TrumpisComingChallenge, and it's the total opposite of its predecessor the #MannequinChallenge which called for everyone to stay still

For the new challenge, someone yells 'Trump is coming!' and everyone scatters and runs for their lives from the premises as if the Donald was really coming

Some have noted that the 'sudden death' is an homage to Disney's Toy Story that saw the toys freeze whenever a human entered the room.

Emi Chavez, from Azle, Texas, claims he started it with his post just hours after the election result and challenged people to 'show me how you'd react if you saw Trump'.

'Me and my friends are Mexican, but we were born here, and everyone is scared by what Trump said about sending Mexicans back home and all the other racist things as well,' the 16-year-old Chavez told the BBC.

'The whole idea was to have some fun, but Trump is a very scary guy to kids of our age because we don't want our families to get split up.

'So we were just thinking about how we would just run away from him if he came near.'

People fling their backpacks aside and sprint into the distance, or wedge themselves into hidden corners, or play dead on the spot

The structure of a #TrumpsComing video is simple. Someone holding a camera approaches a group of people. All is well until someone shouts, 'Trump is coming!'

The viral challenge is a take on #AndysComing, which involves people dropping to the floor and lying motionless after someone shouts 'Andy's Coming'

Some groups have choreographed dances. Others drop to the ground lifeless, providing the missing link between #TrumpsComingChallenge and the #MannequinChallenge

Students leap from their desks and race for the door, hop over fences and even play dead, all in the name of Trump
