'Wish I had that natural beauty': Make-up free Alicia Keys wows X Factor viewers.. as she continues to shun cosmetics in 'empowering' stance

In May, she announced plans to boycott make-up.

And Alicia Keys has stayed true to her word as she made a sensational appearance on Sunday night's episode of The X Factor, where she was completely bare-faced to perform her new track Blended Family.

The 35-year-old Falling songstress wowed fans of the show with her energetic, au naturel showcase as Twitter users went wild - describing the hitmaker as a 'stunning natural beauty'.

Earlier this year, Alicia penned an essay in which she announced her no make-up movement, arising from a bare-faced photoshoot which changed her perspective on her self-image.

After going make-up free for an album shoot, the stunning star revealed she felt 'the strongest, most empowered, most free, and most honestly beautiful that I have ever felt'.

While she does not disapprove of make-up, she insists it is a personal journey as she aims to feel she doesn't 'need' to wear make-up.

During Sunday night's performance on The X Factor, Alicia's natural look once again caused a frenzy as she was praised for her stunning good looks by Twitter users.

Then and now: Alicia Keys has stayed true to her make-up boycott as she made a sensational appearance on Sunday night's episode of The X Factor, where she was completely bare-faced to perform her new track Blended Family

The cover up: Writing in her initial essay, Alicia penned: 'I don't want to cover up anymore. Not my face, not my mind, not my soul, not my thoughts, not my dreams, not my struggles, not my emotional growth. Nothing.'

Aside from the massively positive response to Alicia, Twitter was also awash with criticism for divisive contestant Honey G, who was saved by judges over Ryan Lawrie.

Fans threatened to boycott the programme before making claims that the show was fixed to ensure that the Harrow-born rapper remains in the competition.
