'Whales are majestic as f***!' Plus-size model Tess Holliday bites back at cruel online troll who edited her body to look like an ORCA as she proudly posts the snap on her Instagram and Twitter

While most larger women would consider a comparison to a whale an awful insult, Tess Holliday is not one of them.

After spotting that someone had Photoshopped an image of her body to look like that of an orca whale, the 31-year-old plus-size model decided to use the moment as an empowering one - showing her followers once again that she has no qualms standing up to online trolls.

In a tweet posted on Thursday, a user shared what appeared to be a screen grab of an article on Paper magazine's website, which has an image of Tess at the top of it.

Taking a hit: Plus-size model Tess Holliday has hit back at a Twitter troll after the user Photoshopped her to look like an orca whale

Not backing down: Tess, 31, has long been vocal against body-shaming online

The original image saw Tess in a black body suit, lying on her stomach and raising her head and feet in a sultry pose.

But in the new version, the mother-of-two had been given the head of an orca and her bodysuit had been extended down her legs to form a black tail.

'I can't be the only one who sees this, right?' wrote the user, obviously implying that Tess' weight made her look like a whale.

The tweet was aimed at Tess' own official account, and caught her eye fairly swiftly.

Putting a spin: Tess shared the image on her own Twitter page, using it as empowering instead of seeming offended

Telling it straight: Tess also shared the post on her Instagram page with an empowering message for her followers

For the fans: Many social media users stepped up to praise Tess for 'doing a fantastic job' in the face of bullies

But instead of being offended by the edit to her picture, Tess went ahead and shared it on her own account, replying to the user's question by writing: 'I hope not. Whales are majestic as f***.'

Tess' supporters immediately hopped on to the thread to praise her for her positive attitude and for 'doing a fantastic job' in the face of haters.

Later, Tess also shared the post on her Instagram page, and accompanied the image with an inspiring message to her followers.

'People will try and come for you, they will try and steal your shine,' she wrote. 'They will try and diminish all the hard work you've done because to some, it's impossible to wrap their small brains around the fact that plus size, fat, & however you identify (or don't) deserve happiness.'

She added: 'Well, as a a FAT, SUCCESSFUL MODEL who LOVES HER BODY & literally doesn't give a F***, I'm here to tell you they will try, and they will fail. Don't give in. Also, Orcas are gahhhhdamn miracles so shut it. [sic]'

Tess, who is mom to sons five-month-old Bowie Juniper and 10-year-old Rylee, regularly shuts down body shaming on social media.
