'I was actually in a car on my way to San Francisco. I just saw my Instagram followers going up every second. I went from 25 to 1.4 million – pretty cool,' she said.
At that point, Millie Bobby hadn't even seen the show that was destined to propel her to stardom.
It wrapped after six months of shooting and she went back to normal life with her family in Los Angeles, unaware of how her life was about to change.
Looking back on her audition, she said: 'They didn’t tell me anything. They just said, "Your name is Eleven – relate yourself to ET." That was it. I got the job the next day.'
Boxing clever: The Brit wore Lanvin jacket, a Joseph shirt and Vetement jeans in this shot. She shared of her meteoric rise, 'I just saw my Instagram followers going up every second. I went from 25 to 1.4 million – pretty cool,' she said of July 15 when Netflis released the show

'I met her in the production office and we were all having lunch and she just came in and was like, "I was told that I look like you!" We’d sneak away to her trailer to eat cheese and crackers and gossip.'
Millie wore a couple of outfits for the photoshoot, including a two-button oversized jacket from Lanvin, a shirt by Joseph and reworked Vetement jeans in a picture that showed her in a boxing stance.
Dazed also created a front page for Finn, who is Eleven's semi-crush in the show, which is due to return for a second series of nine episodes next year.
The production only recently revealed that Millie Bobby will return to the show in Season Two after she vanished into ash with a monster in the finale.
