Real Housewives Of Orange County star Lauri Peterson's son Josh Waring charged with boozing behind bars

The incarcerated son of ex Real Housewives of Orange County star Lauri Peterson has been charged with another felony.

Josh Waring 'knowingly and unlawfully' kept Pruno - an alcoholic beverage - while in custody at the Orange County Central Men's jail, and was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance in connection with the incident, Radar Online reports.

Earlier this month, Waring was charged with attempted murder in connection with a June 20 incident in which he's accused of shooting a 35-year-old man in his torso, then stealing a BMW SUV to flee the scene.

In the incident, which took place in Costa Mesa, California at about 2 a.m., eyewitnesses told police that Waring shot a man named Daniel Lopez. Authorities subsequently tracked down Waring with a helicopter, according to authorities with the Orange County Sheriff's Department, and took him into custody at a warehouse in nearby Santa Ana after a pursuit on foot. No firearm was found in the vehicle, officials said, but other evidence linked to the shooting was recovered.

He was subsequently taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder, vehicle theft, felony evading, hit-and-run and assault and battery.

Waring, whose bail has been set at $1 million, has pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder charges. Waring told Radar Online in August that while he had been in a fight at the residence where the incident occurred, he didn't shoot at anyone.

'I was using ... I was under the influence, and was chased off the property. It was a mistake of bad timing,' he said. 'Someone came back and shot up the house. Just because I had priors, I was arrested.'

He opened up about his daunting list of legal woes in the chat: 'I have four other cases on top of this. One is a trafficking sales case, in which I face a max of 22 years and four months. And for the attempted murder, a 45-year max. I am facing time, which is scary.'

If found guilty on the possession charge, Waring could see more time added to his sentence.

Peterson said she adopted his daughter, Kennedy, amid his issues.

She said in an October 2015 interview with the network that she had adopted Josh's daughter Kennedy, her granddaughter, amid his ongoing issues.

'As most of the viewers know, I have a son and he's had just a lot of challenges,' she said. 'And he and his wife had a baby almost three years ago. He's really struggling and, well, they're both really struggling ... We actually adopted Kennedy, and so we're raising her.'
