I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! stars warned to check for bloodsucking leeches as camp is 'plagued by an army of the parasites'

Having been in the jungle for one week they've faced a fair few creepie crawlies in the famed Bushtucker Trials.

But this year's contestants could be getting a lot closer with some of the jungle's residents than they bargained for - as the camp is being plagued by leeches.

This year's stars have been warned to check their belly buttons and clothing for the bloodsucking parasites as a number of crew have been plagued by the worms, according to The Sun.

Attack of the leach! This year's I'm A Celeb contestants could be getting a lot closer with some of the jungle's residents than they bargained for - as the camp is being plagued by leeches

The likes of Scarlett Moffatt, 25, and Adam Thomas, 28 - who have found life in the bush a challenge - are being issued with a special kit to treat the parasitic leeches.

The kit includes a vinegar solution to spray on the leeches, helping to sterilize the affected area and kill the leeches.

One of the show's medics, Dr. Bob McCarron, told the newspaper: 'Once you spray it they die.'

Speaking of the break-out of bloodsuckers, Dr. Bob said: 'We get camera crew finding them in their belly buttons.

'What they like to do on the celebrities is crawl into their socks and they do not even know it.'

The medic also added that the females in camp - which includes Scarlett, Carol Vorderman and Ola Jordan - will have to be more diligent as the leeches are more attracted to women.

Taking part in the latest Dingo Dollar Challenge the pair were dressed up as chickens and had to complete a far-from-sexy task.

And although this involved them hauling giant eggs around a clearing dressed as clucking birds, it didn't stop them flirting up a storm.

The pair have often been caught throwing cheeky comments in one another's direction over the course of the past week, with Carol, declaring herself as single and on the market earlier in the series.

'Little bush cock': Taking part in the latest Dingo Dollar Challenge the pair were dressed up as chickens and had to complete a far-from-sexy task

So it was little surprise that some 'flanter' (flirty banter) erupted when the pair were thrust together to attempt to win a treat for camp in the Dingo Dollar Challenge.

Joel read instructions for the task to his teammate Carol which were simply to 'put eggs in the nest and get all of them together and make them remain there for at least 60 seconds'.

Seemingly unfazed by the challenge, Carol picked up an egg - before realising they were all attached to a bungee rope.

Joel and Carol got changed into comedy chicken outfits, and Carol started flapping around Joel in her costume and squawking: 'Ahh, my little bush cock.'

Dingo Dollars: Joel, 30, read instructions for the task to his teammate Carol which were simply to 'put eggs in the nest and get all of them together and make them remain there for at least 60 seconds'

'You’re one sexy bird Carol,' Joel flirted back. 'You should go into the nest and I’ll collect the eggs, that’s the pecking order.'

The pair tried this but Carol couldn’t keep hold of the eggs - or rather the inflatable balls decorated as eggs - and they kept bouncing back from between her legs.

'Let's try with me sitting and you collecting,' suggested Joel.

The balls bounced all over the place, but Joel started to keep hold of them in the nest and asked Carol to put an egg underneath him.

'Shove it up me Carol,' Joel ordered his partner suggestively.

Chucking it up: Once they got all 12 eggs in the nest they asked for the 60 second timer to start and managed to win the challenge, keeping them all in place

'I never thought I’d be stuffing something between his legs,' Carol laughed in response.

Once they got all 12 eggs in the nest they asked for the 60 second timer to start and managed to win the challenge, keeping them all in place.

'We did not cluck it up,' they cheered.

The pair then proceeded to Kiosk Keith's shack to cash in on their prize, having to answer a multiple choice question  correctly and in tandem with their fellow contestants back at the camp.

Pecking order: Carol is known to have split from her pilot boyfriend Gareth Duff, who was 14 years her junior, earlier this year

Carol's friend, author Amanda Prowse, appeared on Lorraine last week to discuss the flirtation between her and the 30-year-old.

'I think lots of people are attracted to her because she’s gorgeous and funny and kind and warm but I think it’s just fun,' she said.

Elsewhere, Joel's ex-girlfriend Natalia Noir has given their potential romance her seal of approval.

The Russian stylist, 28, dismissed their age difference and told The Sun: 'You can't tell your heart what to do. It's not just about age, it's about different things which people like about each other.'

These remarks came after an innuendo-laden conversation between the pair earlier in the week involving Joel's 'shaft'.

'When was the last time you had a good stick?' Carol asked the jungle hunk. 'Is anyone allowed to touch this stick, Joel?'

A cheeky Joel then responded: 'Absolutely, Carol. You can touch the stick. It's such a sturdy shaft.'

Before entering the jungle, Joel was asked whether or not he fancied the former Countdown maths genius.

He said: 'I'm single, but I don't know if I'm ready to mingle. I like maths. I like to show my working out. I think she would appreciate that.'
