Anna Faris 'fined $5000' after her rescue Chihuahua was found homeless and in bad shape

Anna Faris has been issued a fine after her Chihuahua was found homeless and in bad shape, reports TMZ on Monday.

The 39-year old actress has been slapped with a $5000 fine by a dog shelter for breaking a signed adoption agreement, reports the website.

The wife of Chris Pratt adopted the dog, named Pete, from Kinder4Rescue four years ago, but he was reportedly found emaciated, wandering the street on Friday.

The North Hollywood shelter's owner, Laurel Kinder, told TMZ that Faris signed a contract upon adoption, agreeing to pay the fine if she ever turned him over to a new owner.

She says that the rule was created so that they could keep track of where their animals end up.

When Pete was found by a nearby vet - who ran his microchip - the details for the shelter and Faris came up.

The shelter say that the Scary Movie star hasn't answered their calls.

Anna is reportedly out of town with her husband, and TMZ's sources report that they are aware that Pete was found, and intend to make arrangements for him to be brought home.

They report that the couple had apparently had found a 'nice family home' for Pete, but it's unclear if that new home was temporary or permanent.

Her rep told People: 'Anna is thrilled that the dog has been found, and is ensuring all necessary arrangements are made to bring the dog home.'

The shelter say they are putting Anna on it's do-not-adopt list and that she will have to prove she's been actively looking for Pete to get out of the fine.

The actress has four-year-old Jack with her Parks and Recreation star husband.

They initially met in 2007 while working on the 2011 rom-com What’s Your Number?, which also featured Chris Evans, Tika Sumpter and Blythe Danner.
