And it's clear Patrick Dempsey and his wife Jillian appeared closer than ever as they enjoyed a romantic date night out in Rome on Saturday.

The 50-year-old Grey's Anatomy star delighted in a bite of his makeup artist wife's meal just weeks after she legally filed to have her divorce petition dismissed from court.

The two-time Golden Globe nominated actor dined at Al Ceppo with his spouse of 17 years.

Jillian slipped into a low-cut black number that flashed a hint of cleavage which was held up by two thin spaghetti straps.

Her golden blonde tresses were parted down the center and styled in relaxed waves for a natural look.

The Bridget Jones's Baby actor donned a black suit with sky blue dress shirt.

He sported a bit of scruff and slightly disheveled, yet boyishly handsome hairdo while out with the stunner.

The couple - who tied the knot in 1999 - split in January 2015 after Jillian filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences.

The road to reconciliation was tough, but it was something the parents of three both desired.

'Our marriage was not something I was prepared to let go of,' the Grey's Anatomy star told People in September.

'I didn’t feel like we had done all the work. And we both wanted to do that work. That’s where it started.'

The hunky A-lister continued as he revealed the key to keeping his marriage strong is 'lots of sex.'

They were also joined by their three children - daughter Tallula, 14, twin boys Darby and Sullivan, aged nine.
