'She's very kind and very shy in reality': Charli XCX says Iggy Azalea isn't as hard as she comes across... as she labels people who don't love pop music 'idiots'

The 24-year-old's star soared down under when she performed on Iggy Azalea's Fancy. 

And having known the X Factor judge for some time, Charli XCX was able to vouch for her personality off screen during an interview with the Daily Telegraph.

Though Iggy was known on the reality show as a harsh critic and referred to herself as a 'robot', the Boom Clap hit maker says she is very different in real life.

'She is very kind and very shy in reality,' she explained. 

'People don't really know that about her.' 

She did not disregard Iggy's hard exterior as an act though, and acknowledged her Australian friend had remained 'tough' in the face of extensive criticism.

 Charli said she enjoyed working on Fancy with the Australian rapper, and would be very open to collaborating again.

The raven haired beauty was in Australia to promote her new track, After The Afterparty.

She dropped by The X Factor to perform with contestant Amalia Foy on Sunday and sang her new song live during the Monday night finale.

Speaking to the Telegraph about her image, the British songstress said she was more than happy to be a pop singer.  

'I don't agree pop is a dirty word anymore... maybe for people who are idiots,' she said.

'When you look at what artists are collaborating and what music is on the radio, I would say we are in a really good place, it is exciting.'
