A source told the New York Post's Page Six column: 'It looked like they're legit dating.'

Mariah also reportedly 'spoon fed' Tanaka during an earlier appearance at Hollywood restaurant Catch, where they were joined by the singer's manager Stella Bulochnikov.

A separate source told the publication: 'Bryan had his arm around Mariah all night. She fed him dessert.'

Stepping out: The pop superstar was once again joined by Tanaka (pictured) during an appearance at Airbnb's Open Spotlight event in Los Angeles on Saturday evening.

The dancer is said to be helping Mariah - who has five-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with her ex-husband Nick Cannon - through her recent split from Australian billionaire James Packer.

He also featured in a trailer for Mariah's new reality TV show, Mariah's World, but there was no sign of James in the preview for the E! docu-series, leading to claims he has been completely removed from the show.

A source told the Daily Telegraph: 'Packer was supposed to appear in the first six episodes, but his team has been demanding that the network remove him.'

Mariah and casino mogul Packer's whirlwind romance came to an abrupt end in October amidst rumours of her 'excessive spending' and claims of jealousy on his part regarding her closeness to Tanaka.

And early on Saturday it emerged that settlement talks had broken down after the mother-of-two 'accused him of being an opportunist and using her celebrity status to secure business deals'.

The pair were reported to be in negotiations for a financial settlement for Mariah, who reportedly wanted $50 million after claiming she had to uproot her life and move to Los Angeles for him.

But TMZ reports that James insists there is 'no legal basis' for him to pay Mariah anything as they weren't married.

Mariah was said to have been left 'blindsided' when James called off their engagement.

A source recently said: 'The split has been devastating for Mariah. She loved James and was planning to marry him.

'She made life changes for this man to prepare for their future as husband and wife, even relocating to Los Angeles, at James' request, so he could be closer to his children.

'Everything she has done over the past year is to prove how fully committed she is to their life together. She really wanted this to work. And then, completely out of the blue, it imploded.'
