Superheroes unite! Chris Hemsworth catches up with Avengers co-star Robert Downey Jr to discuss upcoming film and 'health tips'

He's become a Hollywood heavyweight, starring opposite some of the biggest names in Tinseltown.

But it seems Chris Hemsworth likes to hang out with his famous friends off-screen as well, uploading a snap to Instagram on Wednesday alongside Avengers co-star Robert Downey Jr, 51.

The 33-year-old told his followers the catch-up was to not only discuss the upcoming film but get a few 'health tips' as well.

'So great to catch up with @robertdowneyjr today to discuss upcoming avengers and also some health tips,' Chris captioned the snap.

The image saw a casual-clad Chris in a simple round-neck T-shirt, posing next to Robert Downey Jr, with Avengers paraphernalia in the background.

Robert cut an equally casual figure in a black round-neck T-shirt, while giving a thumbs up sign for the camera.

The Avengers franchise is based upon the Marvel Comics superhero team, of the same name, that sees the heroes team up to fight any threats to planet Earth. 

Chris has been receiving nothing but praise from his Avengers co-stars.

Just recently, American star Chris Evans gushed about the Hollywood hunk. 

The 35-year-old told The Daily Telegraph that the Thor star is 'destined to greatness,' joking: 'It is infuriating (how good he is).'   

'He is really well versed in comedy and drama and I think he is a good man, he has a good heart, his head is in the right place, he is one of these guys that is kind of destined to greatness,' Evans said of the Australian actor.

He added Hemsworth was the 'epitome of a movie star.'

Evans attended the star-studded GQ Men of the Year Awards in Sydney, last week.

Hemsworth picked up an award at the event, being named the GQ Man of the Year.

He thanked his fans via video link, as he holidays in the US. 

Gushing about his wife and the importance of women, he said in part of his speech: 'Thanks to my wife, and all the great women of the world who make us men truly what we,' The Daily Telegraph previously reported. 

Chris ventured back over to the U.S. just recently with good pal and personal trainer Luke Zocchi.
