Fourth time's a charm! Sarah Ferguson recycles her favourite orange gown as she joins daughter Princess Beatrice at a star-studded charity ball in New York

  • She wore a Roland Mouret floor length orange gown to the gala
  • Fergie has worn the beloved dress on three occasions prior to last night

The Duchess of York last night proved that when it comes to a show stopping outfit, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Sarah Ferguson, 56, stepped out in a stunning floor length orange gown by Roland Mouret as she attended a charity ball in New York on Monday.

The ex-wife of Prince Andrew joined her daughter Princess Beatrice for the glistening gala in aid of the Gabrielle's Angel Foundation.

Fergie, as she is affectionately know, turned heads in her tangerine coloured gown, but this is not the first time the dress has impressed.

The mother-of-two was last seen in the outfit just two months ago when she attended the Elephant Ball 2016 at the Clarion Hotel Post in Gothenburg, Sweden in September.

In May last year the duchess dazzled in the dress again when she partied with Paris Hilton at the amfAR gala in Cannes.

Revamp your wardrobe with a dress by Roland Mouret

The Duchess of York has really been giving her daughters a run for their money in the style stakes recently.

We've spotted Sarah Ferguson wearing super high end designer labels like Gucci, Alexander McQueen and Roksanda, but Roland Mouret is a clear favourite. And it's easy to see why!

This bright and beautiful dress was a great choice for the charity event she attended in New York on Monday night. Between the statement orange shade and structural shoulders, it's super flattering. You can't quite see it here, but the dress even nods toward the colour block trend with a flash of white on the train so it really does tick all the right boxes.

You know you're in good hands with Roland Mouret, so whilst Sarah's exact dress has now sold out, click (right) to shop the current collection at Net-a-Porter.

This is not the first time that Fergie has dazzled in her Roland Mouret dress being pictured in on three prior occasions

Before then her beloved outfit hadn't seen daylight in two years, with its first wear coming in May 2014 when she attended The Scarborough World Gala Lifetime Achievement Award Ceremony in Toronto, Canada.

On each of the occasions Sarah has added a statement accessory in the form of a bright floral printed silk clutch.

The outfit may be an oldie but the royal has proved it to be a goodie and it still fits like a glove almost three years on - surely a testament to the mother-of-two.

Princess Beatrice, who joined her stylish mother at last night's events, also chose to recycle one of her favourite outfits.

The 28-year-old stepped out in a military style Tommy Hilfiger dress from the brand's 2016 ready-to-wear collection.

The princess was spotted in the ensemble earlier this month when she attended the launch of her pal Sir David Tang's new tome 'Rules for Modern Life'.

Bea attended last night's gala without the company of her sister Princess Eugenie but seemed to be enjoying quality time with her mother.

It was a big night as proceeds earmarked toward the Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research.

The foundation was set up by Grammy-nominated songwriter and philanthropist, Denise Rich in 1996 after her 27-year-old daughter Gabrielle lost her battle with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML).

Along with Gabrielle's sisters Daniella and Ilona, Denise has created in her memory, Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research, that funds the best scientific investigators in the US with the hope that less toxic treatments, and ultimately a cure, might be discovered.

Other stars at the event included Kris Jenner accompanied by daughters Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian and Gigi Hadid.

Yesterday the Duchess of York revealed just how she is keeping trim enough to fit into her archived dresses.

Fergie, who lost three stone in weight and has kept it off for three years, revealed how she feasts on a strange combination of tomatoes, egg mayonnaise and mandarins. It is, she says, a diet that ‘works for her’.

Prince Andrew’s ex-wife said she started comfort-eating after her parents separated when she was a child, an addiction that stayed into her adult life.

Sarah, who was once a spokesman for Weight Watchers, has also undergone a strict fitness regime in the Swiss Alps where she spends much of her spare time, enduring daily runs and mountain hikes.

The Duchess also addressed the issue of her elder daughter, Princess Beatrice’s, recent split from long-term boyfriend Dave Clark.
