Back to work! Original Heathers star Shannen Doherty shares first photo on the set of the TV reboot as she continues to battle cancer

She's been fighting cancer since 2015.  

But Shannen Doherty isn't letting it slow her down. She's back to work and posting a sneak peek on the set of the Heathers reboot. 

The 45-year-old Charmed alum announced the casting Tuesday on Instagram, captioning the photo: 'Sneak peek from the #Heathers set … jealous much?'

The actress was in the original 1988 cult film playing Heather Duke, one of the three Heathers who were in the high school popular girl clique.

The film also starred Winona Ryder as Veronica and Christian Slater as Veronica's boyfriend J.D.

The reboot, which will air on TV Land, has been described as a dark comedy that takes place in present day.

Casting for the three new Heathers was revealed in October. 

Heather McNamara will be played by Jasmine Mathews, Brendan Scannell will play Heather Duke (originally portrayed by Shannen), and Heather Chandler will be played by Melanie Field. 

It hasn't been confirmed which character Shannen will play in the reboot.

But the role is a welcome distraction for the star who has been battling breast cancer since 2015. 

She recently revealed she will have to undergo more radiation therapy in an emotional Instagram photo. 

The 90210 alum has been outspoken about her fears and insists on revealing everything about her journey to her 759,000 Instagram followers.

'Ct scan to do mapping for radiation plan. This scared me so much. Not sure why. Was supposed to get it with contrast but the minute they started looking at which vein to use I started crying. Full panic attack,' she explained in the post.

'Sometimes, you just get sick of being poked. And that's ok. I cried. I felt sorry for myself for a minute,' she continued.

But she insists on trying to stay positive: 'Then stopped and reminded myself of how lucky I am.'
