'I just wanted to compete with Vin. So if Vin did five hours, I did five hours. If he did half an hour, I did 31 minutes and both of us, we just saw each other really reacting well to that non-stop training.'

Ruby went on to explain that they were 'eating all the time' to maintain their energy levels throughout the shoot.

The latest installment in the Triple X franchise sees Vin return as the extreme athlete-turned-government operative who comes out of hiding to take on deadly alpha warrior Xiang (Donnie Yen) and his team in a race to recover a sinister and seemingly unstoppable weapon known as Pandora's Box.

Adele is one of his new recruits, which meant Ruby enjoyed lots of gun training and was able to do her own stunts too.

She told the Kyle & Jackie Show that after working with Vin she considers him a 'brother' and that he got her a rather special birthday present.

'He's always happy and always fun, he organised a surprise birthday and it was axe throwing in Canada,' she explained, before ending any suggestion she was taking sides in the Vin Diesel/The Rock feud.

'I don't think there are separate teams, I think they are just two guys that work incredibly hard that are gifted and skilled and incredibly passionate,' Ruby explained.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson had taken to Facebook, back in August, to slam a Fast 8 castmember for continuously being late to set.

Though he didn't name Vin, maybe subsequent reports suggested it was him The Rock was talking about.

It seems the feud was soon resolved as The Rock later posted : 'To me, conflict can be a good thing, when its followed by great resolution.

'I was raised on healthy conflict and welcome it. And like any family, we get better from it.'
