Kandi Burruss breaks down as 'poster boy deadbeat' ex attempts contact with teenage daughter on RHOA

Kandi Burruss sobbed bitterly on Sunday's episode of The Real Housewives Of Atlanta when her long estranged ex-boyfriend unexpectedly returned to her life.

Russell 'Block' Spencer is the father of Kandi's 14-year-old daughter Riley, but has largely been absent from her formative years.

Kandi, 40, and her husband Todd were working in 'The Kandi Factory' when they were interrupted by an unannounced visit from Block's girlfriend Kris Kelli.

Tears flowing: Kandi Burruss broke down on Sunday's episode of The Real Housewives Of Atlanta when her ex-boyfriend made contact again

'Nobody can just pop up at The Kandi Factory,' griped Kandi in reference to her business headquarters.

Kandi had not heard from Block for the last three years and not much before that.

'I've always tried to be open whenever he reached out…but if you go years without checking in on your child - that is poster boy deadbeat,' she said.

Kris said she had encouraged Block to spend more time with his daughter.

He's back: Russell 'Block' Spencer was attempting to get back in the life of Kandi and their teenage daughter Riley

'The hardest I've ever seen her cry is dealing with some situation with him,' frowned Kandi, who was worried about her daughter getting hurt again.

'She doesn't want to deal with it,' Kandi added, noting that Block had disappointed Riley too many times in the past.

Kandi later discussed the matter with Riley.

Candid conversation: Sheree Whitfield listened as Kandi got emotional talking about her ex

Riley was unimpressed that Block's girlfriend had come instead of him.

'So…void,' she said dismissively.

Kandi later sobbed to Shereé Whitfield, saying she would have loved for Block to be involved in Riley's life, but he'd upset her too many times.

Not impressed: Riley was not impressed that Block sent his girlfriend and nixed seeing him

'My aunt Nora told me to never interfere with the relationship so even if I can't stand his punk a**, if he wanted her to call him or whatever I'd try to make her call him. But if I really say the s*** he's done, that she's not privy to that would hurt my daughter,' she sobbed.

Block meanwhile was refusing to take responsibility for being an absent father, claiming Kandi had shut him out.

'Sometimes these men don't know how to be good fathers, because they didn't have them themselves,' sighed Shereé.

Protective mother: Kandi said she was worried about her daughter being disappointed

His side: Block insisted that Kandi had shut him out

The show opened with Kenya Moore, 45, who was reconciling with on/off toyboy Matt Jordan, 29.

The personal trainer invited her to his family reunion.

'To meet his entire family will be a really big test in our relationship,' she said.

On again: Kenya Moore and her boyfriend Matt Jordan were on again

Shereé, Phaedra Parks and Porsha Williams meanwhile were discussing Kenya's love life over lunch.

'Everybody knows Kenya slept her way to the top of the Z-list DVD rack,' said Shereé, 46.

'She has problems, there's something wrong with her,' she decided.

Trash talk: Phaedra Parks, Porsha Williams and Sheree talked about Kenya's love life over lunch

Matt and Kenya undertook an eight-hour car journey to Ohio to 'bond'.

'I hate road trips with a passion, this is torture for me,' she complained, but after six hours they were still laughing and getting along swimmingly.

In Cincinnati they met his family for brunch.

Long drive: Kenya and Matt bonded over a long drive to his family reunion in Ohio

Good times: The reality star danced with girls at Matt's family reunion

She immediately annoyed his mother by criticising Matt's dress sense.

'Don't talk about my favourite son, that's my baby,' said his mother sternly.

Kenya then called herself an 'alpha male'.

Hot seat: Kenya found herself being grilled by Matt's family

Favourite child: Matt's mom scolded Kenya for criticising his clothes

'I mean alpha female,' she corrected.

Matt's sister Hallison proved to be a tough cookie.

'I didn't come all the way to Cincinnati to get grilled,' said Kenya, who managed to be diplomatic enough to get Hallison and his folks on her side.

Tough talk: Hallison took a hard stance against Kenya being with her brother

Won them over: Kenya kept her cool and eventually won over Matt's family

Selfie time: Matt and Kenya took a selfie with his relatives at the reunion

'I'm really glad I didn't run away from this,' she decided after enduring a rough patch with Matt.

Shereé went to see her ex Bob Whitfield, a former American football player.

She wondered why he'd invited her over.

Leg muscles: Bob Whitfield invited his ex Sheree over and showed off his leg muscles

'We don't spend no time alone together without the kids,' she balked, as he showed her his leg muscles and made her a yogurt smoothie.

As he joked about S&M and invited her to lie down with him, she recalled the bad times.

'He's never apologised for the infidelity…the verbal abuse,' she sighed.

Slow down: Sheree was shocked that Bob was getting hands-on and hitting on her

Bob got a little handsy and asked if he could move in with her - but he got a resounding 'no'.

'You gotta run before you can walk boy,' she told him.

Cynthia Bailey made beignets with her mother and daughter.

Family support: Cynthia Bailey was being supported by her mother and daughter amid her pending divorce

'Nothing like family when you're going through hell basically,' said Cynthia, who was going through a divorce.

'I don't want to hate Peter,' she told them.

Porsha and Phaedra talked babies while hiking together.

No hate: The reality star said she did not want to hate her estranged husband Peter

Porsha had recently 'reconnected' with an old flame from her 20s called Todd.

'I don't necessarily want to have a relationship with him, but I want him to be the father,' she decided.

Phaedra disliked the idea.

Working out: Porsha talked about wanting to have a child on her own with Phaedra

Not a fan: Phaedra was not a fan of the idea and wanted more for Porsha

'I want better for my girl,' she scoffed.

Todd later showed up in Atlanta for a workout session with Porsha.

'I really want a baby…I shouldn't have to wait until I find Mr. Right,' she told him while revealing her plan for him to be the father.

Group workout: Porsha invited her friend Todd to work out with her

He choked on his water, saying he wanted to be more than just a baby daddy.

'I think I can win your heart, eventually,' he told her, swearing to spend more time in Atlanta to see how things developed.

The RHOA continues next week on Bravo.
