'I have walked away': Prince's ex Sheila E says she has washed her hands with late singer's estate drama after voicing her concerns 

She has been reportedly embroiled in a bitter war over her late ex-fiance Prince's estate.

But iconic percussionist Sheila E, has revealed that she has washed her hands with the rumoured $300 million estate, telling Who magazine: 'I have walked away.'

Just months earlier, the drummer was rumoured to have her eyes set on controlling the estate instead of Prince's sister Tyka Nelson.

Given that Prince died without a will, it would be more likely that Tyka, his only full-blooded sibling, would indeed inherit the fortune. 

Sheila has voiced concerns that Prince's estate would be exploited, with an insider telling Radar Online that Sheila 'wants to protect his legacy at all cost.' 

'There's complete and utter chaos because Tyka isn't well versed in managing anything like this,' an insider recently told Radar Online

'But the other half-siblings are even less equipped to deal with it!' 

Sheila's representatives also confirmed her concerns about the situation, telling People: 'Sheila is concerned that [Prince's death] will result in exploitation for profit by people who may have been seeking personal financial gain from him while living and may now see the opportunity to do so in his untimely death.'

'Sheila has concern for the protection of Prince's music – both released and unreleased – and has promoted that the family or Paisley Park representatives have the final decision in regards to the usage of his name and likeness,'

She also sang on a number of his tracks, providing backing vocals in Erotic City and Let's Go Crazy, as well as playing percussion.

She remained close with Prince in his final years but has previously revealed she was unaware of any serious illness he may been suffering.

Prince had reportedly overdosed days before his death and was treated for 'flu' symptoms.
