Widening Participation

Corpus welcomes applications and students from any geographical area and any educational and social background. As part of our commitment to widening participation we work with state sector schools and colleges across the UK. The Admissions Tutor and our Schools Liaison Officer are always keen to establish new links. If your school or college would be interested in finding out more, please contact our Admissions Office.

Under the Cambridge University area links scheme, our official link areas are Northern Ireland, the City of London and the London Borough of Islington. If your school or college is located in either of these areas and you would like to find out more about the activities and events we offer, please contact Janet Rogers, the Admissions Co-ordinator ( If your school is outside one of these areas it may still be possible to organise an event.

Our Admissions Tutor and Schools Liaison Officer visit schools across the UK. We will always try to accommodate requests for individual and small group visits to the College and, out of term, we are usually able to provide overnight accommodation.  We know how useful it can be to talk to current Cambridge undergraduates about their experiences and so, whenever possible, we will arrange for Corpus students to meet and chat with prospective applicants.

Schools Liaison Officer

My name is Sam Twells, and I am the College’s Schools Liaison Officer. Having been an undergraduate at Corpus from October 2011 to June 2014, I worked for 8 1/2 months in the College’s Conference & Catering Department before transferring to the Admissions Office. My predecessors have visited state schools and colleges across England and Northern Ireland, and I hope to maintain our existing relationships whilst developing new links, especially with schools and colleges that have little experience of Oxbridge admissions. I can provide talks for students in Years 10-12 about life at Cambridge and the application process, as well as taster lectures in different subjects and talks that focus on raising the aspirations of gifted & talented students. I can visit schools and colleges, or I can arrange for groups of students to visit Corpus and experience life at a Cambridge college for themselves. If you have any questions or enquiries about talks and events, please feel free to contact me via e-mail on, or on 01223 764005.
