Students interested in the performing arts can join a thriving music and drama scene at Corpus. We are the only Cambridge college to have our own standalone theatre, just off of King’s parade. The Corpus Playroom is an intimate studio venue in the heart of Cambridge, where well-known actors such as Stephen Fry learned their trade as undergraduates. The Playroon is managed by the University of Cambridge through the
ADC Theatre and is Cambridge’s primary fringe space, showcasing a variety of productions, with an emphasis on new writing. The College drama society, the
Fletcher Players, are the resident company.
Music making, both classical and contemporary, is part of the fabric of Corpus. The College Chapel Choir performs services on Wednesdays and Sundays and is always on the lookout for new recruits both from offer holders and from newly-arrived undergraduates. Concerts are frequently held in the Chapel or more informally in the Master’s Lodge. Performers are drawn from within the College but also from outside, either within the University or professional musicians. The college has several practice rooms and every Music undergraduate has a piano in his or her room.
