COLLEGE POST-DOC: RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP/COLLEGE LECTURESHIP IN ECONOMICS

Corpus Christi College, Cambridge UK, seeks to appoint a Research Fellow/College Lecturer in Economics for a fixed term of three years from October 2017. Applications are invited in all fields of economics, but preference may be given to candidates in the field of microeconomics. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will be a scholar in the early stages of their career for whom a short-term post would prove to be an attractive opportunity to enhance their research and academic profile. The successful candidate will be elected a Fellow of the College.

The Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Research Fellowship

The Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation has established a postdoctoral fellowship to enable new and recent Ph.D.’s from the University of Chicago to spend up to three years at Corpus Christi College in Cambridge. The fellowship recognizes early-career scholars of exceptional promise and provides time and resources in support of their research efforts. The fellowship may be used purely for research or the Fellow may choose to undertake a limited amount of small scale teaching (for additional payment). The fellow will be assigned a faculty mentor to help integrate the fellow into campus culture and is expected to take part in the activities of Corpus Christi College, such as seminars, workshops, and research groups at Cambridge in the School of Arts and Humanities or the School of the Humanities and Social Sciences. Fellowship Terms:
The fellowship will begin in autumn 2017, is for three years (non-renewable) and includes:

  • Gross annual stipend of £22,000, plus coverage of pension contributions and private medical insurance
  • Accommodation and meals
  • Annual travel allowance of £2,000 (including coverage of family members)
  • Moving allowance at beginning and end of fellowship term
  • Support for computer purchase

Eligibility:
Anyone receiving a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in the Humanities Division, Social Sciences Division, or the Divinity School between winter 2014 and autumn 2016 is eligible for the fellowship.

Selection Process:
Interested scholars should submit the following materials by December 1, 2016:

  • Cover letter explaining interest in the fellowship
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Writing sample from dissertation or other research paper, not to exceed 40 pages
  • Two letters of reference sent directly to the address below, independent of other materials

A faculty selection committee at the University of Chicago will review applications and identify three candidates for consideration by a faculty selection committee at Corpus Christi. Finalists will travel to Cambridge in early 2017 (January or February) for personal interviews. The fellowship recipient will be notified in March, 2017.
