Tutorial Administrator (Part-time)

Corpus Christi College has a new position in their Tutorial Office for a part-time Administrator to provide support to the Tutorial Team and to ensure the smooth running of the Undergraduate Tutorial Office. The work is wide-ranging and requires a strong ability to prioritise and organise a large variety of tasks.

Applicants must be A level educated (or equivalent), have relevant administrative experience, ideally within a similar environment. Applicants must be self-motivated and have a genuine interest in working with young people. The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines is essential, along with excellent communication skills and a calm and methodical approach.

A good working knowledge of MS Office is required and knowledge of CamSIS and CamCORS is desirable.

Flexibility in respect of hours is essential as overtime will be required occasionally at weekends, evenings and Bank Holidays for which time off in lieu will be given.

Parker Library Sub-Librarian

The Parker Library at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge is seeking an experienced and reliable Sub- Librarian. The postholder will be responsible for the day to day management of its world-class collection of medieval manuscripts and rare books (60%) and will also take responsibility for the library’s contribution to Parker on the Web (40%).

The Sub-Librarian’s duties include supervising readers, dealing with bibliographical enquiries and image requests, and conducting talks and guided tours of the library for both academic visitors and the general public. Experience of working in an academic or specialist library is essential, as is an understanding of the care and handling of rare books and manuscripts. Relevant research experience and knowledge of medieval languages and palaeography would be an advantage. Public engagement is an important aspect of the role and the Sub-Librarian requires excellent verbal and written abilities to promote the library and its collections to a variety of audiences, in person, in print and via social media. Experience of modern book cataloguing using AACR2 and MARC 21, preferably using the Voyager management system would also be desirable.

The work undertaken for the Parker on the Web aspect of the role (40%) will include the responsibility for updating and developing Parker on the Web and working in close collaboration with colleagues at Stanford University and Harrassowitz. Excellent IT skills are essential, particularly in the use of XML and databases, as well as a good awareness of new developments in digital humanities with potential relevance to Parker on the Web.

Information Services and Technology Technician (2 Year Fixed-Term Contract)

Corpus Christi College is seeking an Information Services & Technology Technician whose role will be key in delivering Information Systems support to the community of Corpus Christi College and guests. Reporting to the Information Services and Technology Manager, this role will be involved in all IT technologies and services in use throughout the College.

The successful candidate must demonstrate an outgoing, positive attitude to the provision of customer service and front-line support together with solid technical capabilities for the administration of network, server, and storage systems. Good communication and documentation skills as well as a methodical approach to troubleshooting are essential.

The requirements of this position are previous experience of front-line support of IT Systems and infrastructure with a motivated and approachable attitude. They should also be a positive pro-active person capable of building good working relationships with the community of people they support.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a service-based culture with emphasis on constant improvement and adaptation to IT trends and requirements.
