'No wedding bells just yet': Bindi Irwin, DENIES she's tying the knot with beau Chandler Powell amidst claims mother Terri is worried the 18-year-old will fall pregnant too soon

It was reported on Monday that Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell are headed for the wedding aisle, with mother Terri worrying her daughter would fall pregnant too soon.

And after a representative from Australia Zoo shut down the claims, the 18-year-old has now spoken out in an interview with Today Extra, on Thursday.

'[There are] no wedding bells just yet,' Bindi shared with hosts Richard Wilkins and Sonia Kruger.

'No wedding bells just yet': Bindi Irwin, 18, denied on Thursday's Today Extra, that she's tying the knot with beau Chandler Powell, 20

Speaking with the Channel Nine breakfast program, Bindi appeared keen to quiet down the rumours.

'I'm very lucky. I have a wonderful boyfriend. I'm so glad that Chandler is here in Australia, to celebrate his 20th birthday,' the daughter of the late Steve Irwin said.

'We're just enjoying our time together. No wedding bells just yet....I'm happy. I'm 18,' Bindi continued.

Rumours: A representative from Australia Zoo denied claims earlier this week that Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell are headed for the wedding aisle, after nearly three years of dating

The comments come after a spokesperson from Australia Zoo told Daily Mail Australia that reports that the young couple were tying the knot were simply 'untrue', and they aren’t planning to wed or have a family of their own any time soon.

‘I don’t even know how anyone would have a clue about Bindi’s health but that claim is also entirely untrue,’ the spokesperson said when asked if the Wildlife Warrior was hoping to become a mother soon.

New Idea claimed that the couple will declare their love for one another in front of the same pastor who married her parents Terri and Steve in 1992.

The magazine also alleged that Bindi and Chandler have made several 'secret visits' to the church, which is located in Eugene, US, to prepare for the big day.

No truth: A spokesperson from Australia Zoo told Daily Mail Australia the reports were simply ‘untrue’ and that the couple of nearly three years aren’t planning to wed or have a family any time soon

Pastor Dan Hallgrimson told the publication he will 'come out of retirement for Bindi' and her sportsman boyfriend.

'I would do whatever she needed to help her,' he added.

An insider went on to explain to the magazine that the couple were 'keen' to take their long distance romance to the next stage.

The past: The statement comes after New Idea claimed that the couple will declare their love for one another in front of the same pastor who married her parents Terri and Steve in 1992

'They're young, but they're keen to make their love official in the eyes of God,' they stated.

Last December, Bindi told Daily Mail Australia a wedding between her and her beau was 'a long way off.'

'It is really interesting [rumours she is getting married] but I think that's a long way off,' she said.

'I'm just really happy and just enjoying every day that I have with him and just enjoying being young, so it's great.'

Worried: Meanwhile, Woman's Day also claimed Terri is worried they may become parents themselves sooner than later

Meanwhile, Woman's Day also claimed on Monday that Terri is worried the couple may become parents at a young age, despite them staying in separate beds when together.

'A couple of weeks ago, Bindi was under the weather and it flashed through Terri's mind she could be pregnant,' a source told.

'But it turned out to be a bug and Terri breathed a huge sigh of relief.'

The source also explained that despite the pair staying 'in separate rooms' when with each other, 'Chandler has become very much part of the family'.
