After your interview in December you will receive a letter from the Admissions Tutor in early January which will say one of two things.

1. You have been successful in obtaining a place, either conditional or unconditional, at Corpus in your chosen subject. If the offer is conditional, then your place will be dependent upon you meeting specific academic conditions. If you decide to accept our offer through UCAS, you will be contacted later in the year about accommodation and also by your Director of Studies to ask about option choices for your first year. Note that your application may have been placed in the Winter Pool, and assessed by another Cambridge College, who chose to make you offer.
2. You have been unsuccessful in obtaining a place and this is the end of your application to Cambridge University.

Typical Offers

For applicants applying in the 2016 admissions round for 2017/2018 entry, our typical conditional offers will be as follows.

• Arts and Humanities, including PBS will be A*AA. Applicants may be required to achieve the A* in a particular subject.
• Economics will be A*A*A, in some cases the A* might be requested in particular subject.
• Sciences, excluding PBS, will be A*A*A. Again, applicants may be required to achieve the A* in a particular subject.
• For Scottish Advanced Highers we ask for AAA.
• For the International Baccalaureate candidates our offers typically fall in the range 40-42 points overall, with 776 in Higher Level subjects.
• Students studying other qualifications should check with our Admissions Office for details of our typical offers. There is a guide to International Qualifications on the University’s website.
• Our offers to Mathematicians will always ask additionally for applicants to achieve specific grades in Sixth Term Examination Papers (STEP). This will normally be grade 1 in STEP II and III.
• Our offers to applicants whose first language is not English will usually require a formal qualification in English. Typically, we would ask for 7.5 in IELTS with at least 7.0 in each element. See the University website for further details.

Choice of A-levels

Some A-level combinations provide better preparation for courses at Cambridge than others. Students are advised to check the individual course requirements page on the university website to make sure they have the required A-levels for their chosen course of study. The Cambridge Admissions Office also produces a useful guide to A-levels with advice on which A-levels to choose in order to keep your options open.
