The nicest man in Hollywood strikes again! Tom Hanks gifts a typewriter to a fan who drew sketches of him

He's known for being one of the most gracious people in showbiz.

And Tom Hanks made sure to keep his title when he surprised a fan with a gift on Wednesday.

The actor, who has a well-documented love for typewriters, thoughtfully sent one to fan Denise Esposito - who posted it to Reddit

Gift: Tom Hanks surprised fan Denise Esposito with a typewriter on Wednesday

Tom included a personal note to the artist, which read: 'For your lovely book of sketches of  - all - those MOVIES...Here is a typewriter to do with whatever you need... Make more art! And many thanks. Tom Hanks.'

Esposito told the LAist she met the Sully actor - who received the Presidential Medal of Freedom at the White House earlier this week - at the Rome Film Festival in October.

She had managed to present his publicist with a sketchbook she put together depicting him in his movies.

Gracious: The thoughtful star thanked the artist for a book of sketches of him

She explained: 'I managed to give my gift to him in person.  He's my favorite actor, and I wanted to make a special present for him so I worked hard on all those drawings for 3 weeks and kept my fingers crossed.

'I was like "Okay, at least I'm sure he'll receive it." And a few minutes later a guy called me saying that Tom Hanks just saw my sketchbook and wanted to meet me! I couldn't believe it and nearly started to cry.'

She said that Hanks told her, 'I will send you a typewriter! I've got many and I'd love for you to have one.'

True to his word, he did exactly that.

In September the actor crashed a wedding in Central Park while out jogging and posed for selfies with the happy couple.

Also, in 2012, a set of photos emerged showing Hanks posing with a fan who was pretending to be passed out drunk in a North Dakota restaurant.

Hanks also proved he is the nicest man in Hollywood last year, when he found a college student's ID in Central Park and posted a photo of it on Twitter, in hopes of tracking down and returning the ID to the student.

The bid worked and Fordham University student Lauren Whitmore was reunited with the ID after her professor saw the tweet and informed her.

He will next be seen on the big screen in the U.S in Circle, alongside Emma Watson, which is due for released on April 28, 2017.
