She can't resist a bargain! Lady Gaga and her mum hit the sales during Black Friday in New York

Her mere presence is normally enough to bring hundreds of fans clustering around as soon as she's spotted.

But it seems Lady Gaga just melted into the crowd when she and her mum Cynthia Germanotta hit the stores for a spot of Black Friday retail therapy in New York.

The Beautiful, Dirty, Rich singer - who really is too wealthy to need to snap up a bargain - went incognito in a black T-shirt with the words 'Be Brave' on the front and 'Kindess Is' on the back.

Love and peace man: Lady Gaga flashed the two fingered symbol as she and her mother Cynthia Germanotta hit the stores for a spot of Black Friday retail therapy in New York

But the end of the phrase was cut off because the 30-year-old hitmaker tucked her tee into her black skinny jeans, which she wore with black Vans sneakers.

Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, smoothed her blonde tresses into a pony tail she wore high on her head.

She wore very little in the way of make-up,  just some pearly grey colour around her eyes and pnik lipstick.

And mother came too: Cynthia walked a little behind her famous 30-year-old daughter as they made way back to their waiting car on their shopping spree

Her mother, sporting white blonde hair like her daughter, stepped out in a black hoodie with blue and white edging that she wore over a graphic T-shirt, black trousers and platform sneakers.

The two women got Gaga's bodyguard to fill the back of their car with all their shopping bags full of clothes.

And, surprisingly, most of them appeared to be from Gap.

Going incognito: Remarkably, Gaga was not surrounded by the adoring fans who normally mob her when she's out

Loading up: The star's bodyguard filled the back of their car with bags of clothes, mostly from Gap. But there was one white carrier from luxury department store Bergdorf Goodman

It's hard to believe the Million Reasons singer needs to add outfits from the reasonably priced brand to her already extensive wardrobe.

But there was one bag from luxury department store Bergdorf Goodman that doubtless contained something a little pricier.

Of course, Gaga and Cindy may have been doing some Christmas shopping for friends and family.

Some of the gifts made their way to the Ali Forney Center, LGBT community center for homeless youth, where she also stopped in to play a few tunes.

Perched on top of a piano, Mother Monster cracked out her guitar for an impromptu rendition of her Million Reasons.
