Welcome to St Lucia! Prince Harry is greeted by a guard of honour before sharing a joke with the country’s Governor General on the fifth day of his Caribbean tour

After sailing overnight to reach the latest stop on his Caribbean tour, Prince Harry received an extra special welcome in St Lucia.  

A guard of honour met the prince as he stepped ashore, and St Lucia's prime minister Allen Chastanet waited to extend a 'warm welcome' to the 32-year-old royal.

He then attended a reception hosted by the Governor General Dame Pearlette Louisy, in the gardens of Government House overlooking the historic harbour of the capital Castries.

The Prince shared a joke with the Governor General as she presented him with a gift.

The pair smiled and laughed as they posed for the cameras.  

Hundreds of passengers watched from two cruise ships moored nearby as Prince Harry was taken ashore by a tender from the tanker ship RFA Wave Knight.

After docking at Pointe Seraphine, a sharply dressed Harry was officially welcomed by Mr Chastanet and local dignitaries before inspecting the guard of honour.
