Sherri Papini, 34, resurfaced near an interstate Thursday morning after she disappeared while jogging and managed to flag down a passing car. She had gone missing from her home near Redding, California earlier this month while jogging, prompting a frantic search. Dispatchers and officers can be heard in an audio clip discussing Papini's condition, moments after they found her near Interstate 5 (inset) before dawn. Papini (pictured left with her father-in-law and right with her husband Keith and their two children) has been reunited with her husband. Her sister didn't say whether Papini had seen her two young children or returned to the family's home, but said her return had given the family their best Thanksgiving ever.

Trudeau (pictured bottom right in Havana last week) hailed Castro as a 'legendary revolutionary and orator' after the former Cuban president died aged 90 on Friday night. His father Pierre Elliot Trudeau met Castro during a visit to Cuba in 1976 (pictured left) and their friendship lasted until the elder Trudeau's death in 2000. Castro was an honorary pallbearer at his funeral (top right), where he met Justin. Cuban-American Senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio both criticized Trudeau on Saturday and many on Twitter poked fun at his warm statement that made no mention of Castro's history of ruthless suppression, writing similarly positive eulogies for Hitler, Stalin and Darth Vader.

Brian Ramos, 17, burst into his grandmother Flora Lorenzo's bedroom early Saturday morning. 'Ita! Ita! Se murió Fidel!'', he excitedly tells her in the video, which he later posted on Twitter. Ramos said his grandma left Cuba to escape Castro's regime of 'oppression, discrimination, and mistreatment' decades ago. He said they planned to celebrate on Saturday, joining thousands of Cuban exiles who were partying on Miami's streets as the news broke. More than half a million Cubans fled in the 15 years after Castro took power.

While some Cubans are mourning the death of their country's former president, for one German American woman, the passing of Fidel Castro was much more personal. Marita Lorenz (main left and right), who met Castro (main right) in 1959 when she was just 19, says she and the communist dictator had a torrid love affair, which led to the birth of his love child before she tried to carry out an assassination plot against him. But the 76-year-old Lorenz, who now lives in Queens, New York, was still shocked by the news that her first love had died, her son Mark Lorenz said.

Two young black men have been left bewildered after a store worker called the police on them - simply for asking if they could buy some cheese. Rick Berry (right) and his roommate Phillip Blackwell went on a late-night food run to a CVS in Richmond, Virginia, on Tuesday night, when they were profiled by staff working in the store. Moments after the men spoke to a worker, the rest of the staff disappeared without a trace. They were then even more shocked when a police officer arrived about 30 minutes later. After helping search (left) for the workers, the cop received a call and had to kick the men out of the store.

Party card game maker Cards Against Humanity is digging a hole to nowhere - literally. In celebration of Black Friday, the company is digging a big hole to nowhere, financed by donors. The company, which has a history of such head-scratching pranks, has so far raised $100,000 from thousands of fans to keep digging the hole, which is suspected to be somewhere in Illinois.

Norway's school leavers spend three weeks at the end of their academic year having sex, drinking copious amounts of alcohol and competing in a series of outrageous dares. The young people of Norway call this stage of their lives Russ - short for Russefeiring and consider it a right of passage into adult life.

The 14-minute instructional clip is entitled an 'Explanation of How to Slaughter Disbelievers' features a balaclava-clad terrorists showing the best way to kill those who do not support Islamic State. A man's throat is severed by a militant with a kitchen knife and Kurdish soldier is blown up by a hand-made bomb in the graphic propaganda footage. The video makes reference to attacks in Germany, Finland, Russia, the United States, France, and Britain and pays homage to terrorists who have carried out massacres in Europe.

This set of fascinating black-and-white pictures give an intriguing insight into signs gone by. The images were taken by John Thompson, a photographer who wanted to show the reality of life in the 1800s. In 1876 he set out with writer Adolphe Smith and together the pair spoke to people, and the shots were later published in magazine, Street Life in London. The pictures, now stored at the Bishopsgate Institute, capture the lives of street beggars, chimney sweeps, street doctors and market sellers among many others.

A video, filmed in an unknown location, shows three girls being asked to scoop the stuffing out of the cooked turkey, as their family prepares to carve the bird for Thanksgiving dinner. The girls obey and don't look too thrilled pulling out stuffing out of the bird in the first place. But their mild discomfort escalates to full-blown disgust (pictured) when one of them starts pulling something out of the turkey that turns out to be a raw Cornish hen. As the shock wears off, the girls start giggling. Their father steps back behind the kitchen counter and grabs the raw, smaller bird (upper left), explaining: 'Turkeys have eggs, they don't have babies.'

A motorcycle that Bruce Springsteen was riding when a group of veterans found him broken down on the side of a New Jersey road was built by none other than Billy Joel. The hit-maker sang Springsteen's 'Born to Run' and then told the crowd he called Springsteen when he saw the news. Joel says he apologized and Springsteen replied, 'No worries.' A group of veterans spotted Springsteen on the broken down motorcycle on the side of the road in Freehold, New Jersey. The Freehold American Legion was riding after a Veterans Day event when Dan Barkalow says he saw a stranded motorcyclist up ahead near Allaire State Park in Wall Township. 'Bikers gotta stick together,' Barkalow said. 'I stopped to see if he needed help, and it was Bruce.'

A massive hawk was caught on camera devouring a helpless pigeon in front of a crowd of Columbia University students in Manhattan, New York, on Saturday afternoon. The amazing footage starts by showing the hawk towering over its prey, as feathers are seen strewn across the grass. It then picks at the lifeless body of the pigeon, ripping shreds of meat off with its powerful beak. 'It was right in the middle of campus, outside the business building,' the student told DailyMail.com. 'I've never seen anything like it... It was amazing. The hawk was guarding the food. It was literally standing on it, it was pretty gross to see and hear the sound'.

The photos include protestors in Los Angeles being dragged away (left), a mob attacking a black family for moving into a Philadelphia housing estate (right) and activists picketing in Los Angeles (inset) while American Nazi Party members counterprotest in the background. Shocking images of protesters in Alabama's Birmingham, Montgomery, and Selma being attacked by snarling dogs and being sprayed by fire hoses have become landmark moments in the civil rights protest history.

The glamorous granddaughter of one of Vladimir Putin's most prominent business enemies was killed when her BMW spun off a road and crashed into Lake Lugano in Switzerland. Heiress Diana Lebedeva - who was known to her friends as Lady D - was a leading member of the Moscow 'golden youth' rich set. The 19-year-old was in a BMW X6 driven by friend Azer Yagubov, 23, the son of an Azerbaijani businessman, who was also killed. Her grandfather banker Platon Lebedev, 59, was jailed for 11 years tax evasion, money laundering and embezzlement after two criminal cases widely seen in the West as politically motivated.

Even among the foods that are still widely eaten today, the vintage advertisements show hot dogs in a suspiciously bright red shade, while cheddar cheese is openly touted as 'processed'. It's also fascinating to see how the taste for gourmet and health conscious foods, whether its artisanal cheese or even organic lollipops differs so drastically from the convenient canned goods favored in decades past.

A woman brought her best friend to tears by surprising her with a kitten after her pet cat died. In a video, filmed at an unknown location, posted to YouTube on Friday, one woman clutched an adorable, black kitten, and greeted her friend at the door. The friend was left with her mouth hanging open in shock before she hugged her friend, cuddled the kitten and burst into tears.

Footage shows the man shivering while trying to protect his modesty in front of stunned onlookers in the central Russian city of Irkutsk, who are all wearing coats and hats to stay warm. Police pulled over to save the man, allowing him into the warm car after the icy incident. The mobile phone footage was taken by amused officers and the man can be heard saying: 'Help me, please! My girlfriend took all of my clothes and I can't feel my legs.'

Complete with makeshift antlers, they are tasked with pulling a little boy along in a sled that has been fashioned onto wheels for him. All three of the dogs - none of whom are particularly big - summon their inner Rudolphs, get their heads down and put all their might into pulling the little boy behind them. But not even his Santa outfit can force him to crack a smile. The youngster remains unmoved and looks positively grumpy when his short ride comes to an end. The timing and location of the video are not clear.
