Bastian Schweinsteiger 'should make Manchester United bleed' for the way he has been treated at the club, claims Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness.
The German midfielder arrived at Old Trafford under Louis van Gaal last summer, but his debut season was interrupted by a loss of fitness and form before Jose Mourinho deemed him surplus to requirements this term.
Although the 32-year-old was included in United's squad for the weekend's 1-1 draw with West Ham, this is believed to be a means of easing through a January transfer - with several MLS clubs reportedly interested.

Bayern chief Hoeness, however, insists the iconic midfielder should see out the rest of his contract while continuing to pick up his high wages as 'punishment' for his treatment at United.
'I would let them [United] bleed until the last day and then say goodbye,' Hoeness told fans at a club meeting.
'I would play Golf every month, offer United my work and accompany [wife] Ana Ivanovic to Tennis matches.
Schweinsteiger has received interest from several MLS clubs and Brazilian side Santos

'A club like that should be punished [for how they've treated him].'
Despite interest from the USA and Brazil club Santos, Hoeness believes that Schweinsteiger could soon end his playing career altogether.
'From what I have heard, Basti is close to retiring from football,' he added. 'I do not think we would be doing him or ourselves a favour with a return to Bayern.'
