Rumour? It's believed that Drake's team and the nightclub's management had a disagreement

Despite talks of an argument, a rep for the nightclub told the Mirror that Drake's safety was the reason for his no-show.

'Due to Drake's overwhelming popularity, the sheer number of people that turned up outside of the VIP Room made it completely unsafe for Drake to even enter the venue in the end; so he was unable to perform.'

He was still scheduled to perform again on Sunday night, though it is not known if he made an appearance.

Also in Abu Dhabi is Drake's on-and-off flame, Rihanna.

This past summer, the duo rekindled an old flame, as Drake confessed his love for his pop princess when he introduced her for the MTV VMA's Vanguard award.

'She's someone I've been in love with since I was 22-years-old. She's one of my best friends in the world. All my adult life, I've looked up to her, even though she's younger than me' gushed the smitten artist at the gala event.

Following multiple evening outs and matching tattoos, the flames cooled off for the duo, as E! reported in October that they stopped seeing each other.

Did he or didn't he? He was still scheduled to perform again on Sunday night, though it is not known if he made an appearance
