Could YOU solve the 'impossible puzzle'? Mind bending Hubble space jigsaw has no shape or edges

|

Most puzzle enthusiasts know that the key to creating the picture on the box is to grab the edge puzzle pieces first and construct the border.

However, a new jigsaw puzzle defies all the laws of this creative game, as it does not have a specific shape, starting point or edges.

Called Infinite Galaxy Puzzle, this mystifying 133-piece game lets player begin anywhere, on any side and is decorated with an image of the galactic center from the Hubble Observatory.

Infinite Galaxy Puzzle is a mystifying puzzle with 133-pieces  that lets player begin anywhere, on any side and is decorated with an image of the galactic center from the Hubble observatory It is designed with wood and made with science math and laser by the firm Nervous System

THE IMPOSSIBLE PUZZLE

The Infinite Galaxy Puzzle has 133 pieces and is based on the geometric concept called a Klein bottle, which is a theoretical 3D shape that mathematically identical both inside and out.

It does not have a specific shape, starting point or edges.

The puzzle has special space themed pieces, like an astronaut and spaceship, to make things even more interesting.'

The branching shapes of the puzzle pieces emerge from a simulation of crystal growth and are laser cut from plywood.'

Nervous System is the mastermind behind this impossible puzzle who used wood and science math to put the entire thing together.

'Our puzzles are all about bringing back the artistry and playfulness of traditional hand cut puzzles while exploring the possibilities of new technology,' states the Nervous System website – creators of the puzzle.

'A part of that artisan tradition are 'trick' puzzles, puzzles that can be assembled in multiple ways often to create a witty pun or interesting transformation.'

'Our infinity puzzles build on that tradition with a new mathematical twist that would be almost impossible with hand cutting, a puzzle that tiles in every direction.'

Users can start anywhere they want on the puzzle, as there are no rules that you must begin with an edge or look for the most detailed pieces.

The puzzle is based on the geometric concept called a Klein bottle, which is a theoretical 3D shape that mathematically identical both inside and out.

Another tip many professional puzzlers would say is that you should first turn over all of the pieces so the artwork is visible – but again, this rule doesn't apply to the Infinite Galaxy Puzzle.
