'I stood up and my skirt appears to have gone very static into the shape of pantaloons. I can't pull it down because the static pulls it back up again so you'll just have to put up with me doing this.'

The 35-year-old later took to Instagram to share the details of her outfit, a lace Karen Millen frock teamed with Prada shoes, and was inundated with tips on dealing with static.

Rachel Wells commented: 'Spray hairspray up under your dress and it will stop the static around your legs. Looking beautiful as always.'

Michelle Letts added: 'Turn your tights inside out it stops the problem of the dress.'

'They are really good, they have been really sweet. Teddy is a bit sniffly snuffly, and then Bluebell fell asleep somewhere and we couldn’t find her and she had fallen asleep in the Christmas tree.

The pair also welcomed Steve Wilson onto Wednesday's show to try out the best new board games to keep the family entertained at Christmas, while Len Goodman joined as a special guest.
