In an emotional statement Sherri Papini’s husband blasted ‘fabricated’ talk that her disappearance was part of a ‘race war’.
Keith Papini said the 'rumors, assumptions, lies, and hate' had been both 'exhausting and disgusting' for the family to bear.
But DailyMail.com can reveal that the Shasta County Sherrif’s Department IS investigating race as part of its probe.
Detectives are examining a bizarre racially charged blog post in which someone purporting to be the kidnapped California mom-of-two spews hatred towards Latinos and say she’s ‘proud’ to be white.
The 2003 post was written by an individual claiming to be Sherri Graeff, Papini’s maiden name, and has been circulated online since her disappearance.
The post was uncovered by web sleuths in archived material from the pro-white website skinheadz.com which is no longer active.
Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko told DailyMail.com that the blog post ‘came to light’ in the last few days and they are ‘investigating’ whether it has any links to the abduction.

The disturbing blog post detailed racial abuse that claimed Sherri and her dad (above with her mom) had apparently received from Latinos at a homecoming volleyball game in which they called her dad ‘Hitler’ and a ‘Nazi’
Papini, 34, was found battered but alive on Thanksgiving morning after a three-week absence and police are hunting for two Hispanic females driving a dark colored SUV and believed to be armed.
The Sheriff said: ‘There was a post under her maiden name of Graeff and that was posted, kind of like a little bit of history of her growing up and then some cruelty that may have occurred to her father and that she was basically proud to be white. It was on some sort of skinheads website.
‘We will be investigating that (racial) aspect of the post but we do not have any information that that post was related to her abduction, one way or the other.’
While the Sheriff said his officers did not have any other evidence of any racial motive in the kidnapping, he added: ‘We’ll definitely look in to it to see if it will have a nexus in the case, but it is very early on. This is an open and ongoing investigation.’
The post, that use's Sherri's maiden name, was uncovered by web sleuths in archived material from the pro-white website skinheadz.com which is no longer active
DailyMail.com has learned that the post was not written by Sherri Papini, but, according to her ex-husband, was in fact a malicious prank against her by a high school enemy.
Papini’s ex-husband David Dreyfus, who divorced Papini in 2007, told DailyMail.com: ‘That post isn’t true, it was a prank by someone at high school, she never found out who did it. Sherri isn’t racist.’
David said he met Sherri when they were both working on a Youth to Youth project, a community-based drug prevention and youth leadership program.
He said: ‘The crowd couldn’t have been more diverse. That’s not who Sherri is.’
David, 32, who has since moved from the area, said he and Sherri parted amicably and stayed friends until she started dating her current husband Keith Papini.
DailyMail.com has passed this information to Shasta County Sheriff’s Department.

The married mother went missing on November 2 while out for a jog near her home in Redding
The confrontation ended in violence and it claimed Sherri – who it says has German heritage - broke the nose of a Latino girl.
The author of the blog then claims Sherri was attacked by a group of Latinos, it stated: ‘Three Latino guys and five girls rushed in and jumped me.
‘They kept hollering about how they hated Skinheads, how all Skinheads should be "burned alive" and how I and my ancestors were supposedly all "KKK”.’
The author says she was knocked to the ground and kicked in the face.
The post read: ‘Then, I thought, "Is it worth it?" "Is being white and standing up for myself and my beliefs worth all this pain I'm having to put up with?"
The blog post concluded: ‘Being white is more than just being aware of my skin, but of standing behind Skinheads -- who are always around, in spirit, as well -- and having pride for my country.
‘Being white is my family, my roots, my way of life. It's always there. ‘There's no denying it. It's nobility. It's strength. It will be there to lift me up when I really need my pride, when I need to "keep walking”.’
Sheriff Bosenko says the kidnapping is among the most ‘unusual’ cases he has encountered.
The Sheriff said: ‘There was a post under her maiden name of Graeff and that was posted, kind of like a little bit of history of her growing up and then some cruelty that may have occurred to her father'
‘Absolutely in recent times,’ he said.
He added: ‘Obviously this was a very traumatic incident for the victim, she was abducted, held captive for three weeks and then was released by her captors and then a very emotional part of being released and being reunited with her husband.
‘We did obtain a little information from her,' he said on Saturday, 'but wanted to allow her time to decompress, a lot of time people in very traumatic incidents, given a little bit of time, they recall more particulars and detail of the incident.
DailyMail.com has learned that detectives have now had a more extensive interview with Sherri.
The Sheriff ruled out any financial motive in the case because he says a $50,000 reward was not claimed.
The husband of the California supermom who was discovered chained up on the side of the road on Thanksgiving morning after three weeks in captivity is broke his silence Tuesday to discuss his wife's condition.
In a statement released to ABC News, Keith Papini recounted the heartbreaking moment he was reunited with his wife Sherri, and saw firsthand the horrific injuries she had suffered after being kidnapped while out for a jog on November 2.
'My first sight was my wife in a hospital bed, her face covered in bruises ranging from yellow to black because of the repeated beatings, the bridge of her nose broken,' said Keith.
'Her now emaciated body of 87 pounds was covered in multi colored bruises, severe burns, red rashes, and chain markings. Her signature long, blonde hair had been chopped off.'
He then added: 'She has been branded and I could feel the rise of her scabs under my fingers.'
Police are looking for the two Hispanic women who released Sherri on Thanksgiving, saying they could be driving a dark-colored SUV (map of Sherri's disappearance and discovery)
Details about the case remain scarce, and police are still searching for the two Hispanic women in a dark-colored SUV who released Sherri, 34, the morning she was found. The pair are reported to be armed and dangerous.
Also on Tuesday, DailyMail.com revealed that a good Samaritan spotted haggard and scared blonde woman she believed to be Sherri inside a blue pick-up with two men at a truck stop just days earier.
Witness Christine Everson feared for the woman’s safety after seeing her at the Travel Center stop on the outskirts of Redding, California at around 7pm on Tuesday last week.
Everson attempted to communicate with the woman, who was sitting in the truck and seemed ‘subdued’, ‘extremely hesitant’ and ‘scared’, and called 911 to report the sighting.
It’s not clear whether police acted on her tip and Christine concedes she can’t be 100% certain it was Sherri.
On Sunday, the Sheriff confirmed that Papini was assaulted and suffered injuries that required medical treatment.
‘We currently have no reason to disbelieve Sherri Papini's story,' he told ABC News.

Bosenko added that his investigators are now looking into Papini's past, including her first marriage and divorce, as well as any online activity.
Authorities have put out 20 warrants requesting access to footage from surveillance cameras in Yolo County and Redding overlooking homes, motels, a church and a business.
They also will be reviewing video captured by traffic cameras and sifting through data from cell towers in an effort to piece together what had happened.
Officials said they were looking for a dark SUV and two Hispanic women who were believed to be armed.
Bosenko also noted to the station KTLA that there is ‘sensitive information’ related to the case that has yet to be released to the public.
Papini's family have been most upset by the hurtful comments and conspiracy theories that have been circulating online in web forums, comment boards and chat rooms.
In Keith Papini’s statement, released to Good Morning America, he gave thanks for all the support, but addressed the increasing scrutiny brought on by all the attention his wife's kidnapping has received.
Calling it a ‘double edged sword,’ he said he is grateful that his wife's story spread quickly ‘throughout the world,’ but added that, ‘Rumors, assumptions, lies, and hate have been both exhausting and disgusting.
‘We are not going to allow those people to take away our spirit, love, or rejoice in our girl found alive and home where she belongs,’ Keith added.
‘I understand people want the story, pictures, proof that this was not some sort of hoax, plan to gain money, or some fabricated race war. I do not see a purpose in addressing each preposterous lie.’
Sherri Papini was found at around 4.30am last Thursday, bound and left on a rural road near Interstate 5.
The married mother went missing on November 2 while out for a jog near her home in Redding, setting off a massive search and a well-publicized social media campaign, which her family have credited with helping bring her back alive.
