Proud husband: The 48-year-old star shared a shot of them to Instagram, writing: 'I love you with all my heart'

The couple met on the set of Australian TV drama Correlli and married a year later in April 1996, and now have two adopted children.

Hugh recently opened up about Deborra-Lee to The Ellen DeGeneres Show, saying: 'She's the greatest thing that ever happened to me and it gets better and better.'

Adding: 'And I'm kind of really grateful that I met [her] before anything kind of happened because everything that's happened in my career and on screen, off screen - we've always done it together.'

Earlier this month, Deborra-Lee spoke about how she once tried to stop Hugh from playing his iconic character, Wolverine.

Going strong: The couple met on the set of Australian TV drama Correlli and married a year later in April 1996, and now have two adopted children

The blonde told 2DAY FM'S Rove and Sam: 'Once in a marriage you're allowed to be wrong,' Deborra-Lee said.

'There's one time - one time I was wrong!'

When the silver screen heartthrob was first offered the role in 2000, his wife encouraged him to turn it down.

Hugh told A Current Affair last year Deb told him not to do it, and thought it was 'a terrible idea'.

Hugh is now best known for the role, which he has played in eight different films and amassed a large fortune from.

His support: Earlier this month, Deborra-Lee spoke about how she once tried to stop Hugh from playing his iconic character, Wolverine

His long-standing role benefits the couple more than just financially - the actor admitted in 2013 he sometimes brought out the full costume, claws and all, when getting intimate with his wife.

'The sheets we go through...' he joked to The Sun

Deb was quick to cut in, and noted she also demanded he use the claws for more practical purposes, such as mixing salad.

Despite her initial reluctance, the Hyde and Seek actress had clearly warmed to the character - or at least to the image of her husband dressed up as him.

Hugh confirmed he would play Wolverine for the last time in his upcoming film, Logan 3, which is set for release in March next year.
