A glimpse inside North Korea from the International Space Station: Breathtaking footage reveals what life is REALLY like in Pyongyang - and is so sharp you can see people walking the streets (and spot there are virtually no cars on the roads)
Footage captured from the International Space Station has revealed a rare glimpse at North Korea’s capital city, Pyongyang. The video, taken by the Iris camera on May 30, provides a rare look at life behind the city walls, with sparse traffic and even pedestrians visible in the clips. According to engineers from UrtheCast, people can be seen walking within the grounds of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the massive tomb that houses the bodies of deceased leaders.
How clean is YOUR air? Real-time interactive map shows the pollution engulfing Earth
Beijing-based French scientists have painstakingly crafted a real-time map of the Earth's air pollution in an attempt to raise awareness of the effect contaminants are having on the globe. It is the first map of its kind to project real-time pollution data across a 3D globe's surface, allowing users to spin the globe and zoom in and out for extra detail. The map reveals the devastating effect that air pollution is having on India and China. Air pollution in China and India is already a great threat to the health of those who live there, and is only on the rise. AirVisual's graphic also shows that the area around New York and Washington D.C. in the North Eastern United states is the most heavily polluted area of the country.

Google's humanoid robot goes off road (and this time, doesn't fall over): Watch Boston Dynamic's Atlas learn to trot across the trickiest of terrain
The Institute for the Human & Machine Cognition has upgraded Boston Dynamics Atlas with an algorithm that makes it better balance itself in order to walk across tricky terrain with ease. The humanoid is able to find a solid foothold by shifting the weight of its outstretched foot. It also extends its arms to the side as it walks - similar to how a human would walk who is trying to keep their balance.
Would you live on this UFO-shaped houseboat? Futuristic yachts will be available from 2018, and they could someday FLY
A design team from Rome has created the concept watercraft, called UFO 2.0 that could be used for several purposes including hotel reception, gym or a floating restaurant. The surface of the disc could be used as a garden with grass and trees, sundeck or walking or cycling path, while the interior could hold a kitchen, lounge or luxury amenities that would normally be found in a swanky house, although space would be limited.
Cheers to climate change! Global warming could make the UK a major WINE exporter by 2100
The study, by researchers from University College London, suggests that an increase in rainfall and temperature could transform parts of the UK into perfect grape growing environments. And by 2100, the UK could compete with some of France's most famous wine regions, including Burgundy and Beaujolais. Unlikely areas, including Peckham in south London, and Milton Keynes, could be ideal areas for sauvignon blanc and chardonnay.

The best mummy ever: The 2,000-year-old preserved body of the Lady of Dai still has her own hair and soft skin
The body of Xin Zhui, left, also called the Lady of Dai who died more than 2,000 years ago, is considered the best preserved mummy ever discovered after being found in a tomb in China. When she died more than 2,000 years ago she was overweight and was believed to have been suffering from high blood pressure, clogged arteries, diabetes and also had a severely damaged heart. Her tomb was eventually discovered inside a hillside in Hunan in China when workers were trying to find an air raid shelter. Pictured right is a recreation of Xin Zhui.
The REAL map of America: Researchers analyse commuter journeys to create stunning 'megaregion' maps of the US
Researchers from Dartmouth College mapped 4 million journey flows to create the series of stunning visualisations - and rewrite the map of America. They say it reveals the 'real' regions of America, rather than those decided by city and state lines, and shows the emergence of gigantic 'megaregions' that dominate the country.
Saturn's icy rings are ready for their close up: Stunning animation shows Cassini's daring descent into the planet's halo
On Tuesday, Cassini got a gravitational assist from Saturn's big moon Titan. This put the spacecraft, operated by Washington-headquartered Nasa. on course to graze Saturn's main outer rings over the next five months. The first orbit of this new venture started last night at around 11:30 PM GMT (6:30PM ET). On Sunday, an engine firing by Cassini should seal the deal, with the spacecraft making its first ring crossing. Cassini's ring-grazing orbits, which will be taking place until April 2017, are shown here in tan. All the orbits the spacecraft has made up until this point are shown in blue.
Work begins on £116million life-size replica of the TITANIC in China which will allow visitors to relive the sinking which claimed 1,500 lives
Construction on the life-size replica of the Titanic (pictured left) began in China's southwestern Sichuan province yesterday with a keel-laying ceremony and fireworks to mark the occasion. The replica (artist impression pictured inset) plans sparked controversy when it was announced the design would include a simulation of the iceberg crash that sank the original ship in the Atlantic Ocean on April 15, 1912. Some 1,500 people died in the disaster. Backers say the design will also play on the 1997 blockbuster 'Titanic' movie, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet (pictured top right) and the interior (pictured bottom right) will reflect that shown in the Hollywood film.
From space to Hollywood: Nasa astronauts transform into Jedi Knights and wizards to recreate iconic sci-fi film posters
Nasa is well known for its incredible vintage-style space travel posters but it also produces stunning crew posters for every mission. The designs have been inspired from everything from Star Wars (left) to Harry Potter (centre) and The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy (right), featuring astronauts taking on the role of Jedi Knights, Star Trek officers and even wizards.
From the Great Blizzard of 1888 to the evolution of the plane: Take a journey through 128 years of fascinating National Geographic illustrations
A new book, 'National Geographic Infographics', edited by Cologne-based Julius Wiedemann, reveals some of its most iconic infographics published by the organisation over the years. From an expedition to find the largest cave in the world to the evolution of skis since Stone Age men first strapped wood to their feet, the diagrams contain a wealth of knowledge. The top left image shows the Great Blizzard of 1888, bottom left the evolution of the plane and right is a 2015 image of the ecosystem of the Amazon.
Is this the first written mention of Jesus? 2,000-year-old lead tablets found in remote cave ARE genuine, claim researchers
An ancient set of lead tablets showing the earliest portrait of Jesus Christ have proved to be around 2,000 years old, according to experts. The metal 'pages', held together like a ring binder, were found in Jordan in around 2008 by an Israeli Bedouin and make reference to Christ and his disciples. The tablets suggest that Christ was not starting his own religion, but restoring a thousand-year-old tradition from the time of King David. And the God he worshipped was both male and female. The tests where done by the University of Surrey.
A lost polar bear searching for snow, receding glaciers and a country ravaged by floods: National Geographic photographers capture the devastating effects of climate change around the world
The images were submitted by dozens of photographers who had each observed global warming in their pocket of the globe or abroad. Among them is one of a polar bear sitting on the edge of one of the unseasonably warm Barter Islands, off Alaska (top left) in October, in search of snow. A woman paddles a raft through flood water in Bangladesh (top right), which has been crippled by climate change in recent years. In Anchorage, Alaska (bottom right), a glacier's snow is slowly receding. Pollution was also captured by entrants. Bottom left, gases plume into the air from factories in Singapore.
Watch the Earth change before your eyes: Google unveils a stunning 3-decade timelapse of our planet
New images released by Google's Timelapse application show how features including Alaska's Columbia Glacier, which is pictured left in 1984, and right in 2016, have drastically evolved in the last 32 years. Using Google Earth, Google researchers have combined more than 5 million satellite images to create 33 images of the entire planet - one for each year.
The stunning video from the 'mothership' of doomed Schiaparelli: European Space Agency reveals first images of the ExoMars orbiter (which did work perfectly)
While Europe's Schiaparelli Mars lander crash last month may have taken all the headlines, it's 'mothership' has been a total success - as these stunning images show. ESA’s new ExoMars orbiter has tested its suite of instruments in orbit for the first time, and bosses say it 'hints at a great potential for future observations.' The Trace Gas Orbiter, or TGO, a joint endeavour between ESA and Roscosmos, arrived at Mars on 19 October - and released the ill fated lander as it began orbiting.
