'I'll never be better': Austin Carlile of rock group Of Mice And Men gives fans candid Marfan syndrome update

Austin Carlile took to social media to inform fans of metalcore rockers Of Mice & Men that he's in a never-ending battle against Marfan syndrome.

The 29-year-old frontman alerted followers in October to his condition when Of Mice And Men were forced cancel the rest of their European tour.

The rocker responded with brutal candor on Twitter on Monday to fans who have since urged him a speedy recovery.

'FYI you don't "get better" w/ Marfans. You GET BY. I've had foot, ear, rib, head, hip, back, & heart surgeries just so I can function/live,' Austin tweeted on Monday to his 750,000 followers on Twitter.

The Pensacola, Florida native followed that with several more postings explaining his struggle.

In successive tweets he wrote: 'all of you saying I should hurry up & get better what's taking so long. I'll never be better. you happy? I live EACH DAY as it comes. each day is a battle. Marfan Syndrome is a fibrostic connective tissue disorder, that means it affects your ENTIRE BODY, and IT. IS. PAINFUL.

He added in a pair of tweets: 'I don't cry on Twitter on all the bad days. I suck it up & keep pushing on. The rare good days?!... I CHERISH those more than you could ever understand. & I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. This is why I have such a heart for those hurting, mentally OR physically, because I. AM. TOO.'

Austin the following day tweeted a selfie of himself eating a croissant and thanking his fans and family for their continued support.

His tweets resonated with singer Chaka Khan, 63, as the Queen of Funk on Tuesday retweeted his first Marfans syndrome message along with the comment: 'Profile of courage & strength.'

Marfan syndrome is an incurable rare genetic condition that affects the body’s connective tissue, according to the Mayo Clinic.

The genetic disorder most commonly affects the heart, eyes, blood vessels and skeletons.

The condition can become life-threatening if the heart or blood-vessels, such as the aorta in the heart, become affected.

Carlile in his October message to fans said he had been admitted to Stanford University hospital for treatment.

'Please do not worry for me, there are multiple things more important happening in the world right now. Besides, God has a plan, all of this is in His hands at the end of the day and I'm ready for whatever comes next,' he posted on social media.
